Does Imperial Vader's +6 defense for trooper followers stack with the felucian's advantageous cover for trooper followers?

Yes, they stack. Imperial Vader's bonus is a 'straight' bonus, but the Felucian's CE grants a Special Ability, not a straight bonus.

Is that a squad that people run with a lot of success? Imperial vader, felucian officer, mas and shock troopers?

It can win a lot of matches, but it isn't run very often because it has some auto-losses. Basically any big movement breaker that can kill swarms tends to to very well against it - Yoda on Kybuck or IG-Lancer, for example. That's kind of the problem for most swarm squads. The swarms that can do well are the ones that can stop the Lancer... Self-Destruct or Death Shots.
