Why is Vader not considered a cyborg in SWM?

He's should have been. Bad designing by WotC. He's the most famous cyborg in the Star Wars universe. Same reason Han should have had pilot.

I disagree. Grievous is the most famous cyborg in SW. Vader just has some robotic limbs... Not enough to make him subject to Droid CE's and such... I do agree with the Pilot argument though.

Lobot has 1 small robotic part on his head and he is a cyborg.

Vader needs mechanical help to breathe. He should be a cyborg. My guess as to why not, is, that would make him weaker. (Ion Gun 20).

I agree with Juice man. The only thing I thought might be the difference is that I thought that maybe you needed to have a mechanical device assist or be in-bedded into your brain to be a cyborg and Vader does not have that. For what it's worth, Wikipedia has Vader listed as a cyborg.

Cyborg wasn't an ability when he was first made (no RS cyborgs), and after that they didn't want him exposed to the droid vulnerabilities.

I hear ya Lord, but cyborgs get CEs so I'm not sure what would hurt him by being a cyborg in the game.

I think that he should probably be a cyborg, however it isn't the first word that comes to mind when I think of him. Grievous, however I think of as a cyborg because he uses his robotics more drastically. I guess we give Cyborg to people who use their mechanical parts in action. Grevious with his four arms, Lobot with his hooked up to a computer constantly, Bomarr Monks for holding their brains in jars. Whatever...

i would count someone as cyborg when the mechanical parts of body are essential to live. vader couldnt live without them, so hes cyborg ;P

darthbinks1 wrote:I hear ya Lord, but cyborgs get CEs so I'm not sure what would hurt him by being a cyborg in the game. Maybe they didn't want him being repaired instead of healed. Bloo glossary of Cyborg: A Cyborg character counts as living and as both a Droid and a non-Droid. This means it benefits from effects that target Droids (such as Repair) in addition to other kinds of effects (such as Heal). However, a Cyborg character is also vulnerable to harmful effects that don't normally affect Droids (such as critical hits) as well as those that specify Droids only (such as Ion Gun +20). Cyborgs can be affected by commander effects.

Well, at the time Cyborg originated, Ion Gun still affected them. They didn't exactly want Vader to hide from a cheap Jawa.

I do agree with the Pilot argument though. I Disagree Pego Vader has more than enough cybernetic parts to count as a Cyborg. Luke Skywalker also has a cybernetic hand thus he also technically counts as a Cyborg, though not by the games standards. I do think Vader should be able to regain HP via Repair, and personally I play with Ion Gun effecting cyborgs.

+1 to Edi and Jak and I also Agree with GBmC that Vader was a Cyborg but that that wasn't what he was most known for

Personally I think there should be an Obi-Wan with an ability "More Machine than Man" which gives Vader Cyborg

Nice Hatton. Are we to see a custom obi soon? Only problem that I see is there is no down side to being a cyborg.

I think I put it on a Ghost Obi-Wan I made once...
But I didn't realize Ion Gun didn't work on Cyborgs, that was my main thought in giving it to him.

It should though. It disrupts technology and that would reek havoc on Vader's breathing.
