What exactly happens when two Muun Tactics Brokers face off?
In particular, they both need to kill off one of their own pieces. In what order are those two pieces killed off, since it happens before initiative is determined? This matters if the two pieces have self-destruct and are adjacent to each other. And what if one of the MTBs is killed by the self-destruct triggered by the other MTB?

If I recall correctly the 2 MTB's cancel one anothers effects, no pieces are defeated, init depends only on what the dice rolls are.

It's not mentioned in the FAQ. If you have a link for it, that would be appreciated.

Both MTBs DO trigger and both players have to kill a piece. Both players then turn their init rolls into a 1, so they tie, and roll off like normal. Same thing would happen if one players has an MTB and that player also rolls a 1.
I dunno about the order, though. That's an interesting question.

I dunno about the order, though. That's an interesting question. In the Toe-to-Toe tournaments, it hasn't come up yet, but it probably will eventually. You can't even go by previous round initiative because if both sides bring an MTB and self-destruct then everything will blow up on the first round. If we don't have another ruling, maybe it makes the most sense for both sides to first pick their dead ally, and then kill off each of them in a random order. If the first player's choice ends up killing the second player's choice, then the second player would not have to kill off another ally.

I would assume that it is like anything else that is 100% simultaneous in that you would each select in secret, then reveal.

I don't know how you could do that. Timing on death shots, self-destruct, potential removal of Distraction/Disruptive/etc seems pretty tricky.

I'm finding nothing regarding that specific situation.
If I were a judge, I'd rule that both players reveal the mini to be defeated simultaneously, and whoever wins initiative would choose the order in which they are defeated.

i would assume that you would not have to kill another piece as you have already decided which piece you want to destroy
