1) If my character is on an elevated green square and an ally is adjacent to this character, but not on a green square, does the enemy have cover from an attack by the character on the green square if the ally is the only thing between me and him?

2) Same question except ally is now on a green adjacent square.

Yes, in both cases the adjacent ally in between would cause the enemy to have cover.
