1) Can Thrawn swap a piece (if he has Ameda in his squad) out of a room that has the door locked with override?
2) If not, same question but now the door is simply not open because no one is adjacent to it.

No and no because there is no line tht can be drawn between thrawn and the character

With ranged CEs (in Thrawn's case, characters within six squares), you still have to be able to count range from the commander (or mouse droid) to the affected characters. So you need to have a clear path between Thrawn or a mouse droid and each of the two characters he's swapping.
