I assume when determining if there is line of sight, the ONLY thing you use are the red lines on the map, right? There seems to be a lot of disputes with this because on certain maps the red lines are not always exactly in the center between two squares or the landscapes can make it look like you can't see someone, but low-and-behold, if you use a string to find out it crosses through a black mountain or something, but is jusy within the legal red lines. Not to mention I sometimes use flat dental tape to measure and when it is flat, it touches a red line, but on it's side it doesn't. Is there an official string that people use? If not what do you all use?

The red lines are all that matters - the art and black lines are just art. Also, when the red lines are beveled corners, treat them as if they go all the way to the corner for the purposes of line of sight/targeting. The beveled corners only indicate that a character may move diagonally across the corner.

Even if the line were not beveled, I thought you could still move diagonally because you can be diagonal to a square and still be considered adjacent?

Yes, you are adjacent, but you can't cut across diagonally over a squared corner of wall.

But if the pink line hangs over the corner of a square, isn't LOS checked to the corner, rather than the end of the line?

Yes. All terrain lines are on one inch grid lines and end at an intersection.
