If I had recon...and if I had smugglers luck working for me at the beginning of each round...could I do this?

Wouldn't you roll 4 times for initiative...2 for recon if you have line of sight and 2 for smugglers luck

Both Recon and Smugglers Luck say "Roll twice for initiative". So you just roll twice.

No, you only roll 2 times, no matter how many characters with Recon or Smuggler's Luck you have.

How does that work Sithborg....as they are both different abilities. Or is there a rule somewhere that only allows 2 rolls for initiative no matter what? I just couldn't find it through the rule questions here. Thanks.

I was under the impression that the "same" abilities don't stack...but different abilities would stack (like double and extra attack that have the same outcome) as they are unique or different...I guess I'm just trying to clarify why it would be accepted for one set of abilities to be used with similar results and not another set of abilities. Sorry to pick your brain. Thanks again guys.

They both allow you to roll initiative twice. Though they are different abilities, they both have the same result, rolling initiative twice. There is nothing to stack, since they don't add to each other. It would be different allowed an additional roll of the die, but they don't. Neither have an additive effect beyond just twice.

Which is why Double Attack does not stack with Triple Attack to grant 4 attacks. One grants the ability to make 2 attacks, the other grants the ability to make 3 attacks. Triple Attack already grants what Double Attack allows.

A better way to get more initiative rolls is to have a character with Sense The Future. The only character with Smuggler's luck is the Monnok.

Thanks Sithborg and rest of the crew for your assistance. I really appreciate the clarification. I'm glad I asked...or I would have one very very unhappy opponent who I still want to keep as a friend. :) Cheers guys...oh one other thing. Is there a plan to have a search function on the rule postings?

If you want 4 rolls, use Recon + Anticipation. Anticipation allows you to reroll initiative, and if you have Recon you reroll both dice. If you want a 5th roll, bring Sense the Future too so if you don't like your first 4 you can switch with an opponent.
