Here's my favourite from each set - obviously people will have different favourites, depending on which factions they like playing.

Destiny of the Force: Darth Revan, Sith Lord (Sith) - he gives Sith squads lots of options, with swap (swapping himself) and Master Tactician. Sets Sith up for a big early round strike.

Renegades and Rogues: this set has a ton of strong pieces. I'm going with R2-D2 and C-3PO, Galactic Heroes, as I use them a lot.

Vengeance: Corran Horn, Jedi Master

Scum and Villainy: IG-88A - having a pair of dangerous IG-88s that fit in most factions is great.

Galactic Heroes: Darth Caedus, Sith Lord - Sith Battle Manipulation brings a different dimension to games.

Command of the Galaxy: Talon Karrde, Information Broker - all Fringe squads is pretty cool.

1. Destiny of the Force: Revan, all the way. He was instrumental in revitalizing the faction, and his self-swap CE is a stroke of genius. The Yammosk is a close second. I don't like everything about Bastilla's ABM, but it almost single-handedly brought the OR back into competitive play. Really, this set paved the way for the balanced meta that we have now.

2. Renegades and Rogues: Mace Windu. Some love him, some hate him (I think he'd be fine if he lost Flurry). Personally, I love him--not only because he helped me win the Champs in 2012--but especially because he's the bad@$$ jedi beatstick that I've been longing for all this time. Honorable mention to Atton Jaq Rand and Darth Maul.

3. Vengeance: Either Foul Moudama (cool movement breaker) or Dr. Evazan (great for healing and auto-damage, and he is easy to bring with Lobot).

4. Scum and Villainy: Mandalore the Vindicated...he's so cool, and he synergizes really well with the faction. Strong disruptive that can pack a nasty punch. Honorable mention to Han Rebel General, because he creates so many interesting possibilities and helps to bring so many of the cool Hans back into play.

5. Galactic Heroes: It's REALLY hard to say: either Luke GH or Kelborn. Both of them have opened up a bunch of new squad-building options for their factions, which is always a huge bonus in my books. Honorable mentions to Cad Bane and Aurra Sing (always played together).

6. Command of the Galaxy: Cin Drallig. I'm biased because I got to design him myself, but this is a fig I've wanted to see in SWM ever since playing "Revenge of the Sith" on X-Box for the first time, several years ago. Several honorable mentions here as well: Quinlan Vos, Assaj Ventress, Maul on Swoopbike.

To answer the other part of your question, there are alot of people that make and have made these sets possible. For each set there is 3 to 4 designers, one main quality control person, one head of play testing, and one lead graphic designer. There are then at least one other quality control person, a dozen or so playtesters and a graphics assistant. Designer rotate on and off sets while trying to keep at least two experienced designers on each set.

lots of great pieces in the Vsets.

I really liked what came out of the Cantina Brawl mini set. Evasan, Mowmaw and Figrin are all really great reinforcement pieces.

Hard for me to put a finger on which is my favorite by Revan is probably the figure i'm most proud of. Unlike Bastilla, he his feedback has been unanimously positive.

I also like Marn a lot. IMO, he really feels like the guy he was in the comics. Resourcefull and adaptable. I'm still a bit stunned he ended up winning the Gen Con champs but it makes me feel fuzzy inside cos he is such a great character.
