I went through all the results, and collated them - 20 v-set pieces and 16 wotc pieces made at least half the lists - I've listed them below. It's a pretty good summary of the game's best pieces, although there are a few weird exceptions IMO - especially in Rebels where Rieekan made it through easily, but mainstays like General Dodonna and Princess Leia didn't. Lobot seems like another piece who should have made the list, while the usually controversial Panaka of Theed didn't get any votes at all.

Oversights. Lobot is clearly great, but I often don't bother with him in casual games (which is what I usually play). Republic is stacked with great pieces... tough to fit them into a list of just 5.

I corrected Daala. If people put Cad Bane in Fringe, I counted it as regular Cad Bane.

Luke: that's why I mentioned Hero of Endor in my list. He makes several of the Lukes a lot better, and frankly, he's really solid himself. I don't consider LotLS to be very good, honestly; mobile quad is nice, but at only +9, you won't be hitting very often.
