Here are the Rules: 1. The character must be cannon and from the chosen faction. They can have affinity, but the character must start in the chosen faction. 2. You may update any existing versions you already have and/or create a new one. You may update/create several versions of the character but you must ultimately select 1 you wish to run with. (this must be done by the schedule below) 3. Place a hyperlink in this forum to make it easier to find your character. You can just post the stats or image here but if changes are needed it would be easier (and save space) if you just used a Hyperlink (If you don't know how to post Hyperlinks in a forum setting please ask and we will help you. It's not hard ) 4. Please rate the characters in this contest, however don't be so base as to 1 bomb the other characters in this contest. This is a friendly contest, just have fun, be honest and do your best. 5. Voting will look like this: "I rated so-and-so(A) an 8, so-and-so(B) an 9, and so-and-so(C) a 7. My vote goes to so-and-so(B). (this vote counts as 1 point) Please feel free to comment on why you made your choice, (what you liked) or not and just put your scores. 6. Too make things fair you must vote in order to win the contest. You must vote for all characters entered in the contest and you may not rate or vote for your own character. 7. The character that is rated the highest in the Bloo Milk rating system will receive a bonus of 2 points. The winner will be decided by how many points they receive (for example: so-and-so(B) received 3 individual votes and received the bonus 2 for being the highest rated character for a total of 5 points) 8. you may not change or update the entered character AFTER the deadline (from Tuesday-Thursday you may get advice and change your character accordingly) Friday at midnight before any votes are cast is the deadline.
The schedule will be like this: Monday the winner of last weeks CCC will announce his choice for the character (including his faction), from Tuesday till Friday characters can be created/updated but on Friday you must have picked one character to submit. Then voting will be held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday until 4, Monday night the winner will be announced and the next character picked.

A challenge! I personally found Savage to be a fairly uninteresting character so it'll be interesting to see what I can do with him.

I was thinking that with the new Maul, maybe a new Savage O would be fun to work on. After digging in, I'm not real impressed with my "Winner's choice". It will be a challenge to reinvent the original V-set piece. I've tried to use it in the past and it just didn't feel right. I don't know if it was the cost or constant battle of keeping savage then trying to lose savage and keeping a nightsister near by all the time but not too close because loner wouldn't kick in. Guess I not as experienced as I should be to juggle all those abilities. He was like a game in himself.

I liked a lot of what they did with Opress especially after Maul returned. Here is my first pass, had a hard time representing everything I wanted to while keeping him in the point cost...still not sure if I have it, but I think it is close. http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/17507/savage-opress--mauls-apprentice

Wayward ApprenticeHe really wasn't with Dooku that long, so I gave him Independent Outfit for when he and Maul were just running around.

Savage Opress, Betrayed ApprenticeThis is after his time with Dooku and Asajj, during the time he was Obi hunting with Maul and the Mandos. It's powerful and basic, but I think that is exactly what Savage Opress was.

Personally I really liked what the V-set team did with him, as I went about designing a new version I tend to creep towards a slightly altered version of what we already got.

That is what i was kind of hinting at in post 3 of this thread. I didn't make a very good choice. I should have went my alternate choice Darth Desolousto see the crazy stuff people would come up with. I think the next time (if there is one) I get to pick, I will pick a more main stream piece like Obi or Vader.

He was in Sep, Sith and Mando factions at different point of his career/life . I know you can Affin but that again handcuffs the creativity.

Here's to Desolous in a future week. Savage isn't too bad, though.

Finished tinkering Putting up now before I tweak it too much Savage Oppress, Sith Apprentice It's all about power, some defence with DA but all his bonuses aid his strength. Went with a weaker Bane style character, he can do damage but will drop quickly if misused. Edit: Also went with Twin over Double so he cant get super boosted with Triple. His Maul Affinity may look funny but it serves two purposes. Firstly, to allow Maul(s) into a Sith Squad; Secondly, Maul was 'dead' and Savage found him again and brought him back.

I wasn't thrilled at the outset as the vset version is pretty good when compared to the character's wookieepedia entry. However, I feel I've come up with something that pays homage to the original yet brings a unique bag of tricks while staying true to Mr. Oppress. Savage Oppress, Dark Warrior

Andy Hatton, Maul's apprentice Camaraderie is well chosen, I really think his SAs fit despite him being a bit to ability heavy for my liking. But generally a solid representation of Savage when he is with Maul. 9.0
Gungan Batman Clone Wayward Apprentice Good piece and I like the Nightbrother/sister theme you have going on. He has a few to many force powers for one so raw and untrained but other than that a good representation and helps flesh out the night sister faction. 8.6
General_Grievous, Monster Essentially a small armoured version of a war beast with a touch of the force.
Lord Ball, Dark Acolyte Enforcer Really like the simplicity of this character especially in Force Powers, not sure how I feel about Callous though. But good low cost option. 8.7
DonnyRides, Betrayed Apprentice Great and solid abilities all around, excellent choice of force powers, my only critique, which I understand why you went with (to keep his cost down) is the low HP, I just see Savage as being a tank taking hit after hit, dark armour does help but I could see this guy rivalling some of the toughest characters in the game HP wise, may just be me though haha. 8.9
PegoLego, Dark Acolyte Great selection of Force powers and SAs, I like TV best stick sep version of Mara. Good job on this one. It still feels a touch over costed in today's game, but all around nice fitting piece showing everyone's second favourite horned brute as Dooku's henchman. 8.8
Poppins88, Dark Apprentice A lot going on here, and normally I'm not in favour of too many new Abilities or too many abilities in general. But I like where you are going with the multi-piece. Extra points for thinking outside the box. 8.7
Cerous_Mutor, Sith Apprentice Simple but effective, and a nice addition of abilities that fit well on Savage. Can't say anything to improve here, good job. 9
Saber1 Great job, I really like how it seems to flow with previous Mauls. I would say this one is my favourite of the lot as I can picture him and Maul getting their kill on. 9.1

AndyHatton's Maul's Apprentice 8.5 Bloodthirsty + rage and 30 damage seems a bit over the top and I don't really see him as a speed person. But the cost is balanced.
General Grievous' Monster 8.75 Balanced but Battering charge and 30 damage seems a bit much interesting going back to the old CE synergy.
Lord Ball's Dark Acolyte Enforcer 9 Good abilities I think he could have higher HP.
donnyrides' Betrayed Apprentice 8.9 Rivalry is good but again Rage and 30 damage and swing seems too much but without Force Renewal it balances out especially with Savage.
pegolego's Dark Acolyte 9.25 Hand of Dooku is good and he is balanced with his abilities.
poppins88's Dark Apprentice 8.5 You didn't actually put an affinity ability in his stats, but that's OK. In either squad he would be a big beat stick I think he's just a little under costed.
CerousMutor's Sith Apprentice 9 I think he would get a lot of play with Maul, again a little overpowered but good beat-stick.
saber1's Dark Warrior 9.25 Cool affinity with Maul and balanced.
A close call between pegolego and saber1. My vote goes to pegolego.

It seems I must start rating in more than whole numbers, in order to be a bit more dynamic and thorough... I hadn't really wanted to, but since I believe everyone else does, it will probably balance my ratings better with other's. Anyway, this weeks ratings: Savage Opress, Maul's Apprentice (AndyHatton) 9.5 A solid job on this one, you got a great representation of the timeline you wanted to, in my opinion. Savage Opress, Wayward Apprentice (Gungan Batman Clone) 9 Despite the crowded card, this is a very strong Savage. The Force power selection is great (maybe even PERFECT). The love for Maul is great here. Savage Opress, Monster (General_Grievous) 9 A simple, brutal Savage that can be VERY dangerous if your opponent isn't careful (sometimes, even then ). Savage Opress, Dark Acolyte Enforcer (Lord_Ball) 9.5 A nice and simple, flavorful approach. 90 HP is a bit of an eye opener, but then, this was before his armor. I think even I ( ) can agree that this is probably a bit over cost, seeing what brother Maul, SI can do in two factions without Whorm support, but a VERY nice custom nonetheless. Savage Opress, Betrayed Apprentice (donnyrides) 9.5 A full out SAVAGE version; it doesn't disappoint! Nice ability selection; I can see this one getting FUN in some savage squads (brought in to Sith by Maul), at least in higher point games. Savage Opress, Dark Apprentice (poppins88) 8 Hmm... The idea for giving different things in each faction is cool (and I like the 3 faction affinity; it fits here!). I think he'll drop pretty fast for his cost, but the ability selection is nice. I feel that, while the 3 abilities that change his abilities between factions all have FLAVORFUL selections, I don't feel he brings enough with him to the Seps. Also, since in 2 of 3 factions he can't use his Repulse 5 without a battery (while is easily available in Sith, it just feels like you are missing something) it seems that it might not have turned out quite as planned. Definitely a piece that I would work on tweaking and perfecting after the contest though . (though I don't know if anyone could fit all that on an actual CARD ) Savage Opress, Sith Apprentice (CerousMutor) 9 Firstly, love the name. I think you retained the flavor you wanted, despite converting the piece to Separatists. There are some things that might could be tweaked a bit further, in the new faction, but overall a very good custom. He'll drop fairly fast, but under the right circumstances he can put out 160+ Damage. Savage Opress, Dark Warrior (saber1) 9.5 Very nice custom, cool name, lots to love here. Giving Maul Empathy is genius, and makes this piece that much more flavorful. Dark Armor + Teras Kasi gives him a BIT more staying power than most of the others with just DA, since now he can still reduce damage from those pesky Jedi . And my final vote is a though choice... donnyrides, saber1, Lord_Ball and AndyHatton all had GREAT entries this week. Hmm... I think it's between donnyrides and saber1 (coincidentally, both are actual Savage versions lol). saber1 gets my vote this time
