Okay, I need to narrow down what I am taking to the chicago regional. Here is what I have so far.

No to New Republic Super Stealth

Old Republic Soldiers and Bastila- http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/140304/bastilas-troopers

No to the gloom walker snipers.

No to the rebel cloaked spotters.

Mandalorian furious assault- http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/139986/the--furious--dead

I am thinking the new republic super stealth, but any ideas would be great.

I think that the Mandalorians might have the best chance against a Daala squad. Snipers would be good against Klatooinian Assassins.

Okay, would the sith snipers be better with 4 snipers and talon or 3 snipers and zannah?

I'm not sure about that. Zannah is a good interference piece, better than Darth Talon, but would be in trouble against a Talon Karrde squad because of Ysalamiri. Darth Talon would be safe because of Cloaked, and she is decent melee interference, but she just doesn't have Zannah's survivability. I guess the latter option might be better if you are worried about running into Daala, whereas the former would be stronger against mainstream, non-swarm shooter squads? I don't know for sure, though.

Could anyone with more competitive play experience weigh in?

Most Daala builds have Ysalamari too - FlyingArrow's mass of troopers didn't, but most others have Pellaeon in there.

I haven't really tried anything particularly similar to those builds, so I don't have any insights.

I'm not sure if anyone will run Daala/Talon and Klats at Chicago - I'm interested to see if they do. It's probably good to just pick something that you think is strong and which your are comfortable running, rather than to second guess the specific meta too much.

Not a fan of the NR or Sith builds. The Mandos work best against Daala, but nobody ran her in the last regional. I like the OR build best overall, but I would still try to fit in Oteg by dropping Gha and some small tech.

go with the OR, most squads rely to heavily on CE's, Bastilla totally nerfs them.
also, the look on your opponents face when they see you have Bastilla is priceless.ThumpUp

Thanks for the help guys. I need to switch some stuff up in the OR build. Which is better, oteg or Saul korath? Or maybe the commander that gives them +3 def and squad assault?

i know ABM is great but i think playing Arkanian (or any Prideful piece) without getting Prideful is kinda silly.

Out of 6 regionals the top 24 had 11 squads with access to some form of force immunity, only one was Vong. Now, that's only the top 4, maybe the rest had FI, but I doubt it. ABM can really mess up some people/squads.

Having said that, I kind of agree with harryg. +4/10 is hard for me to pass up.

jak has done well with Bastila.

Long shooting sight-lines are great for these squads. Suggest Grand Plaza.

To the Juice Man, you should listen... Grand is the Plaza.

For the OR squad I think your right, but for the mandos wouldn't then bar citadel be better? My big beats are mainly melee and the furious assaulting mercenaries... Well, they have mercenary. So I feel like the corners would be better to pop around.

If you want Bastila + GMA Shooters, another option is Bastila/Atris/3 or 4 Echanis. It hasn't got played so much lately, as none of the stuff is new and shiny, but it's still perfectly good.

That is true hutt, but I like the troops have triple and a natural higher damage than the echanis. With triple you can take out two targets instead of one. Also with the troops build you can use the AJG more than Atris since he is less vital to the squad. In addition after I have the same amount of troops to echanis I still have room for boosters, such as oteg or karth. The echanis has evade and atris has battle meditation, but the troops can have some pretty nasty tricks themselves. I'm just trying to do some stuff that hasn't been done, but I doo have that exact squad milling about 😊
