So characters like Kyp Durron and Savage Oppress can become Savage but have replaces turn abilities. Savage states that if the character can move adjacent then it must. So what's the point of having these abilities? Do you not have to move adjacent if you use a replaces turn ability? Also, if you can move adjacent by spending a Force Point, must you do that as well?
Thanks,

You cannot use a replaces turn ability of you are savage and can move adjacent. You do not have to move adjacent if the only way to do so is using a force point.

So what's the point of Force Push 5 on Kyp and Force Repulse 5 on Savage? They are ranged so that you could move on the people you are targeting. Savage doesn't even start with enough Force Points to use Force Repulse 5 and can't get more unless he's Savage, in which case he couldn't use the power.

Kyp can push when adjacent or with empathy. He also had ways of getting extra force points without being savage

Savage Oppress isn't as bad with that strategy. Kyp's better used with unlimited Lightsaber Assaults when he's Savage (4 attacks a turn). Using Force Push while adjacent will just put 50 damage on him.

There's still plenty of times where Push is the better option though. For instance, he might be able to take out more than one character that way. Or he could knock them into position for a devastating one-two combo. He could also use it to escape if it meant that staying adjacent would mean more damage than what he would've taken by pushing them.
