What were to happen if Marn Hierogryph used Con Artist on Commander Gree? Commander Gree's CE reads:
"Allied characters are treated as having the same name as each other, only for purposes of special abilities whose name contains Squad. Followers within 6 squares gain Squad Assault."
Would this mean that Marn would get +4 attack while within 6 squares of three enemies other than Gree?

No. For starters, Con Artist only allows the choice of one Commander Effect. Gree has 2 (Each paragraph on a card in the CEs represent a different CE). This means Marn would only either get Squad Assault or the ability to count as any character for Squad abilities. Regardless of the choice, Marn would need then allied characters to make use of the CE.
