I love the Rebels, but they come second only to the NR in my playing book. The Rebels have more options and are more competitive, but the NR is my favorite!

NR has more lightsabers. Rebs prolly have more competetive builds, but I loves havin some lightsabers.

It actually depends on my mood that day as to which I prefer, but I voted NR.

They are both great and competitive. I may have to give the nod to NR, but if you ask me on a different day, my answer could change.

They both play differently. But it looks like the NR is coming into it's own, but I still hold my candle with the Alliance. Plenty of proven pieces and more options then just which power unique.

The NR is like Kobe and the Lakers, a couple of awesome figs with respectable support. the Rebels are the Jorden era Bulls. Great teamwork roll players and awesome in the right hands.

NR all the way, great CE's you ca fit dodonna in for activation controll, the new leia, they have everything from beatstick to shooter to disruptive, to CE to allot of open doors.

rebels have stayed the same for 2 long, while NR is expanding

rebels have nice lower point options, i like the superstealthed commandos. they have a lot of mid-costed pieces that do their job and some great CEs. but the new republic has cooler beatsticks and power pieces.

Give NR a version of Artoo (cheap door control and some other Artoo-esque mechanic) and a speed piece (a la Luke's Snowspeeder, Clone on Speeder, Yobuck) and it is a no-brainer. Those are the only two areas that NR is lacking, IMHO.

I think that NR has them out melee'd while the Rebels definitely outgun the NR. I'll be honest, one of my most desired pieces is a New Republic Pilot, then I'll feel better about shooting ability (Jag rocks)

I have Jag. Can't wait to use him w/ a NR pilot or vader, LotF.

Way back before they switched over to the Saga edition rules the rpg introduced a new prestige class in the New Jedi Order source book... it was called:

Jedi Ace. Kyp had levels in the class, as well as Corran. I would love to see an uncommon Jedi Ace for the NR. They wouldn't have to have melee attack, but could have the lightsaber ability... along w/a host of other force pilot abilities.

Then they could make Master versions of Kyp, Corran, and whoever else I left out w/CE's for said Aces. After all Saba led her own all Jedi fighter squad against the Vong... Just a thought...
