I am very excited about this set. As has been mentioned, not only are there multiple new pieces with a more powerful melee focus, but the set is also much more than that.
The name of the set (Evasive Action) is taken from a line Admiral Ackbar says in return of the Jedi. It evolved from having many pilots in the set (oooooh, spoiler), as well as many shady characters that operate on the edge of the law (evading incarceration or retribution).
There are some simple but fun pieces. There are pieces that I hope will help bring areas of the game that need it up to speed. There are pieces that are complex and powerful, but tricky to build with. As always - we are trying to get new things in the mix without shutting out old stuff completely.
There are many bold new concepts in this set, and I am anxious to see how they are received. A few new VERY SIMPLE abilities that I think will be used a lot (why didn't we have these yet?), and some new creative more complex abilities too (I know not everyone likes complicated, but still others do. Fun new abilities are a passion of mine), not to mention many new boosts to old pieces.
I really do look forward to this set coming out. If the playtesters enthusiasm is any indication, we are in for a fun ride!
Over the next few weeks, in addition to the official previews and spoilers, we'll hint at a few things every so often.
Feel free to guess at what they might be related to.

I'll kick it off with this:
There is a dual class grunt (I'll let you interpret that as you will) that is very boost-able.

Here is a anticipation builder: Ever wanted to play a squad of nothing but old Clone Strike Jedi...and actually be playable and survive against shooters? Then there will be one one piece in this set that will make you very happy! I know I was!

After landing the vessel behind enemy lines, (blank) pilots would frequently take up arms with their fellow soldiers on the battlefront. Guess the 2 classes this grunt falls into, and you'll get more info on him!

A Pilot Soldier. Soldier [Counts as a character named Old Republic Soldier] There are some pretty sweet boosting options for these guys. Oh, also - they have built in twin. ;) (10 base damage) So - what's the max damage output you can get these guys up to by CEs only?

As you work on Max damage output for the Old Republic Drop Pilot, I'll give you a new one to start on as well. A close associate of Talon Karrde who is brilliant with codes and numbers has a couple brand new abilities, in addition to a handful of other useful ones. Here's one new ability: Instead of all the letters scrambled, try just arranging the words in the exact right order. No clues until it is exactly right, then we'll reveal more about this character. (Or if it gets stalled I may give a clue.) Quote:a adjacent allies at cannot character enemy enemy false had identification line nonadjacent of of or save sight start target target that the the the this to turn unless 11 ; . ] [ (To make it a little tougher I made capital letters lowercase)

Follower, non-unique, 10 base damage, built in Twin, counts as a character named Old Republic Soldier, and is a pilot. I should specify that SAs given through CEs count. I just didn't want you all coming up with an Old Republic Drop Pilot surrounded by 8 Gonk Droids, using multiple spotters, etc. CE boosts. Go

Here's my guesses so far: Quote:a had the the to unless ;
False Identification [
At the start of line of sight save 11. ] target nonadjacent enemy that enemy the turn
cannot target adjacent allies or this character

cannot target adjacent allies or this character Great start! Also - it might be good to figure out who this character is. (Yes, the name has already been spoiled)
