So if a mini is wielding a lightsaber but also has shooter capabilities (such as the Luke with Lightsaber deflect but shoots or Aura Sing) when it gets into a adjacent position is it using shooter or melee?

I suppose I'm asking also a dumb question that if a shooter is in an adjacent position is it a melee or non-melee attack they are using?

Also are the use of force powers considered an attack and therefore limit movement? ie Can a character move 12 and make a force attack or use force powers in an attack form or does it still liited to moving 6?

Thanks...it's been a while and I've not actually played a lot :)

Melee/non-melee does not change whether you're adjacent or not unless you have some ability that specifes otherwise (like Poison Blade). Lightsaber does not specify, so when Aurra Sing is adjacent, she's still making non-melee Attacks.

If you use an ability that replaces attacks, whether it is a Force Power or a Special Ability, you treat your movement as if you made an attack in most cases (there are some weird exception, like Heavy Weapon). So if you are using Loghtsaver Sweep or Force Push for example, you can only move 6 squares.

Ok cool, thanks. I can't recall the exact context of why the question arose. I think it was defending against adjacent attacks from luke, hero of yavin which even though he has lightsaber powers it doesn't say melee. i thought if they had a lightsaber ability they might switch to it once they got in a melee position.
