I went to the disney in Florida over my spring break and I saw a little star wars show thingy where they got kids like 8 and under to come up on a stage and pretend to be jedi padawans. They learned lightsaber moves and fought darth vader at the end. It was entertaining, but not the celebration per se.

Which disney are you going to?

Disney World. We saw the Jedi Academy thing and I think my wife got my son a pass for it.

Yeah, I think that might have been the thing I saw. I was busy taking photos of the ATAT on my phone during it. How old is your son?

Went to one in Disney World a few years ago. Was on a boondoggle for work and my wife and I stayed a few extra days. Was pretty cool. They had quite a few of the actors signing autographs and characters from the movies, books and comics all over the place to take pictures with. They had a few live shows, we missed the main one, but the one we did see was entertaining.

Whatever you do, MAKE SURE you see the parade that happens right around lunch time. It might be right at noon. It's kind of hard to miss it though, because there's usually people lined up everywhere for it.

The 501st usually marches in said parade, depending on what weekend you'll be there (not sure if they are marching all weekends this year, or just the first and last weekend). It's super awesome to see 50+ stormtroopers all marching together, plus the myriad of other characters.

SWW is the only time I really care about going to MGM (Hollywood now) Studios. The rides there are OK, but after living in Orlando for 5 years, and having a Father-in-law who works at Disney, I've been on the rides plenty of times for myself at this point, lol. But the stuff they do for SWW is really cool, between the photo ops, random Star Wars characters walking around (keep an eye for Aurra Sing, she's pretty cool), and the parade, there's a lot of neat stuff they do.

Definitely check out Star Tours the ride, the Rockin' Roller Coaster, the Hollywood Tower of Terror, and the Stunt Show (can't remember it's name, but it's really cool with car tricks and stuff). Those would be my suggestions.

I'm back Woot

I wanted to give a small report of our vacation to Disney Star Wars Weekends @ Disney World. To sum it up is to say it was awesome. We were there last weekend and had a blast. We met Jay Laga'aia (aka Captain Typho). We were lucky enough to get standby tickets to meet him. We got pictures with him and his autograph. He was the weekend host. Also there were Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), David Prowse (Vader), Matt Lanter (voice of Anakin on the cartoon) and Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka on the cartoon). The lines started at 4am to get tickets for Fett and Vader and we just weren't going to get up that early LOL We did get to see them interviewed by Jay in a show. We also saw Ashley and Matt in a show discussing the next season that ended with a preview for season 2. That was pretty cool.

One highlight was the Hoopla where Chewy/Jawas, Vader/Troopers, and a chorus of female characters danced off. Chewy and the Jawas did a hip hop theme. Vader did hammertime which was hilarious. The girls were just hawt Woot

The stage right had a life sized AT-AT next to a rendering of the Ewok village. There were tons of characters waling around to get photos with and tons of cool shows. The parage featured tons of people from the 501st. I bet there were about 50-60 in costume in the parade.

I will get some photos up at my gaming community forums www.GreatLakesAlliance.com when I get some time. Otherwise most of this you can find on the Disney site with links

Disney Link

BTW I'm ready to do some trading!! My trade lists are up to date ThumpUp I would get caught up on the forums but once again all my new post markers have been wiped out by the forum bug Cursing
