I've been lookin at getting some more minisBigGrin . But i cannot decide on either the Clone wars Battles or the Hoth battle pack. I am leaning towards the CWBs, there is only a 20 point difference in favor of HBP, and i need to expand my repub/seperatist collection. What does everyone else think?

I personally thought the Hoth Pack was a better investment because it was so hard to get some of the Hoth figs in there (at the time). But there is Roron Corobb in the CW pack, a totally original figure compared to the re-sculpts of Veers and AT-ST in Hoth.

Resculpts? The Veers and the AT-ST in Hoth are also original. Specifically, Veers is "General Veers, Hologram" and the AT-ST is actually "Blizzard Scout 1", neither of which can be obtained in any other set.

On the other hand, in addition to Roron Corobb, the CWB box also has the Clone Trooper on Speeder and IG-Lancer Droid, which can likewise only be obtained in this box and no other set.

I guess it depends on what you want to play. I like the minis in Hoth better, overall, but the maps in CWB are MUCH better than the Hoth maps.

Edit: I should add that I play all four of Imps, Rebels, Seps, and Republic, so I have both sets. If you are looking to expand your Republic and Seps, then go with CWB.

I would go with CLone Wars because you also get the Clone trooper and Lancer Droid.

With clone wars you get the more popular figs right now, but with Hoth, you get some things that are going to become harder to get. Personally, I would go with Hoth now and clone wars later. But if you can........get both!!

You can get blizzard scout and Veers, the only exclusive Hoth figures, for a total of 14.50 over at miniature market. However, Roron, the Clone speeder, and the lancer go for 14.99, 17.99, and 19.99 respectively over at gamehollow. From a money standpoint, the choice is pretty simple. :)

In Clone Wars, you get 3 rares you can't get anywhere else (Lancer, Clone Speeder, Roran Corrab), 3 reprint copy rares (Grievous SP, Windu, Big Speeder), one reprint rare with a new pose (Dwarf Spider Droid), one reprint uncommon with a new pose (IG-100 Magnaguard), and two other reprints.

I think that Clone Wars gives you more for your money and gives you better maps. But that's just me.

by the way, I have a lot of imperials, and two rebels. More Imperials then fringe, even. My rise of the empire era collection is pretty weak, so far.

If you want usefulness, go with Clone Wars, if you want Coolness, go with Battle of Hoth.

I think both of the packs are very nice. I for one like the Hoth pack better because it provides a lot more figures. But the CW pack gives figs that are worth playing often in terms of Seps and the republic gets a couple figs that are okay, but nothing like the Lancer found in the pack

I like the clone wars one better because they have the 2 speeders, other than that, the only 2 exclusive ones in hoth are the blizard scout and veers, they dont see to much action, and the CWB have better maps.

granted there are more figs in hoth but it costs more.

Our local Target(s) are poorly stocked when it comes to minis. Unless you meant their website. I found it at a local gaming store for $31.99, not a bad deal. Plus I like supporting to local shops, as opposed to the corporates heh.

Haven't opened it yet. Pretty cool set though.

I've checked my target, they ONLY have IE and CW boosters. When JA comes out they will probably only have that and IE.
