I know this would have definitely have been asked before but for my own needs can Lightsaber deflect counter Boba's disintegration or is disintegration instant? I think it can counter it but just looking for confirmation thanks :)

I'm pretty sure the only thing that counters disintegration is bodyguard - the bodyguard gets disintegrated instead of the target. And glossary says: Quote:If this character rolls a natural 20 on an attack roll, the target character is defeated regardless of its Hit Points. The target is defeated even if it avoids damage with a special ability or Force power. If another character takes the damage from the attack (for example, using the Bodyguard special ability), the other character is defeated instead of the original target.
Against huge or larger targets, the attacker gets +40 Damage instead of defeating the target. (Add the bonus damage after multiplying.)

TheHutts is on the money; Lightsaber Reflect and Lightsaber Deflect don't change who gets Big D'd. (which was the impetus for Lightsaber Redirect, in preference to Lightsaber Defense).
Huge and larger characters just take double damage (from Crit) +40DMG.
In house rules or other formats, I'd recommend allowing counters to Big D, especially if errata'd GOWK is in play. (So, reflect, deflect, defense, etc) because it happens more than you'd think.

A character with reflect can reflect damage (amount depends on which type of reflect) but disintegration still affects him.

Oh well, I let my daughter away on that one then, she put up good reasoning for being able to deflect and I didn't have the answer against it, but unfortunately I beat her anyway...it's just so hard to let her win so she enjoys the game more! LOL Thanks for the help. Hey what is the errata'd GOWK? A character with reflect can reflect damage (amount depends on which type of reflect) but disintegration still affects him.

Rules-wise, when you reflect damage, the force power is generating "new" damage and the old damage is negated. Subtle difference, but that makes it fit with the glossary of disintegration.

It is the SSM on GOWK that was the issue. The simplest answer is that you play it just like it is read on the card.
