Am I required to have a legal target for the force ghost to put him in my squad? What happens if I don't? Does the ghost just float around doing nothing?

With some of the newer ghosts that actually do stuff (Quiggy and Kol) the thought of playing the ghost just for what they do has crossed my mind and didn't see anything that makes this illegal, and saw no reason for the ghost not to just hang around doing nothing, haunting nobody, so just checking.

I am going to have to say this would not be legal, as everyone knows that ghosts only haunt places/people because they have something they didn't finish in life, therefore, once they are doing nothing, they would fade away.

Dave will provide a real answer, but I seem to recall this being asked and the answer was that you had to have a legal target for the ghost. An implicit squadbuilding restriction, otherwise you can't follow the rules for the ghost. On the other hand, that may have been my own guess instead of an actual ruling I read. Fuzzy memory.

Choosing a character to 'haunt' is not optional.

If it were, it would enable a situation where it could be impossible for one squad to defeat the other.

so what happens if I bring Han with Versatility and a force ghost and no other force users, then switch to a han without a FP (Stormy for instance)

You select who the ghost Haunts DURING Set up and you use Versatility AFTER Set up according to their respective glossary texts. Since you are replacing them and the person you chose to haunt the ghost with is no longer in your squad I would assume the ghost also leaves, but that is just a guess on my part.

Sithborg ruled on the Versatility interactions. It's floating around somewhere, I'll have to hunt for it when I get a chance.

thanks swinefeld.

Yeah, I think I remember that conversation awhile ago.

Just that since I have been messing around with Force Ghosts recently and since some of them have CEs and such and do other things that might be useful in a squad without a unique force use, I thought I would ask when I couldn't find anything on my own.
