We made sure we got a hotel connected to the convention center for the last several years. This year they decided to screw over the tried and true GenCon vets and make getting a room a random lottery. We did not fare well in that lottery. So we don't have one of those rooms. Our hotel is further away. Would people be willing to travel to a hotel for this? Anyone have a hotel right next to the convention center?

I think getting people there would be less of an issue than space in the hotel itself. The hotel where Tim and co. are and its sister hotel across the parking lot (where J and I are staying--Eric, Lou, and Jake S. will be there as well) don't have much in the way of lobby space, although they might have conference rooms available. Actually, depending on how many people, it might be easier to accommodate them in the room than in the lobby.

Why couldn't we use one of the adjoining hotel lobbies like we have in past years? I don't ever remember them checking to make sure that anyone there was actually staying at that hotel.

I don't see a problem with that the hotel in the past we have met at has tables all over the place. I would not worry about it and just figure it out when we get there. It will all work out. I know we(Bill, Matt, and Me) might not get in till late again this year. I might have to work and in the past other things have come up so we can't leave early.

the convention center is an option, but booze may be an issue.

It took me a while to really like the game but I am really enjoying it now. The new maps really force attacking and I hope that is the case going forward. I am a bigger fan of the bigger maps but the smaller ones keep Officers more in check. Just like swap is not as seen as much with tile wars.
