Folks, I would like to Hold/Host an SWM regional weekend in my area next year. I have a centralized location for Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan Players. I would also like to extend the encouragement invite to our Chicago and PA folks as I am a day tripper away. Being out of the game for a while, I will need some help with rules and judging and prizes and such. Grand prize would most likely be a Gen Con badge as that seems to be the running flavor. I have access to a couple of venues. I will PM a few of you that I met through the Indiana regional for some help and support.
I would like this Event to be on or around May 21st/22nd of 2016. I think with my location NW Ohio, Defiance to be exact, it has the opportunity to attract a good number of players. Please, EVERYONE is invited and I would really like some feedback, questions, or concerns.
Thanks

if you've been to a few regionals before, then just imitate a similar tournament. you'll need quite a few attendee to support a GenCon prize, that was done alot before the game ceased production. I ran the last few Ohio regionals, and had poor attendance, less than 10, so I stopped. drop me a line if you have questions

I have 3 in my area that would and I'm really close to the IN and MI players too.

That's less than 3 hours. That's a day trip! (and if we want we can run up to Archbold for some ornament shopping)

I've been married 32 years. If I played on our anniversary I'm afraid that streak would end.

Actually Jak, Editor travels 2 hours (one way) to be part of our play group every month. That being said. I'd be willing to travel to Defiance to play, I love that town! Especially if it's in May. That month works well for me! I will vouch for Jak on trying to get people to show for an Ohio tourney. I beat the bushes trying to get people to show up, and we still only had 7 show, it was very frustrating.

yea, Den, what I meant was no travel to tournaments, out of state. like a long weekend to NY, or VA.
