When are you allowed to spend a Force point to move 2 extra squares? Obviously you can do it on your turn with a regular move. What about these?

1. On your turn when using a replaces-turn/replaces-attacks ability that causes movement (e.g. Charging Fire)?
2. On your turn when using a replaces-turn/replaces-attacks ability that doesn't cause movement (e.g. Force Lightning 5)?
3. On your turn when using a bonus-movement ability (e.g. Rolling Cleave, Rolling Attacks, Agile)?
4. Outside your turn when using your own bonus-movement ability (e.g. Intuition, Surprise Move)?
5. Outside your turn when moving by using an ally's bonus-movement ability (e.g. Coordinated Movement, Darth Revan's CE, Major Maxmilian Veers' CE)?
6. Involuntary movement (e.g. Force Push 2, Sith Battle Manipulation)? Even if allowed, I can't think of a reason why you would *want* to move extra squares when your opponent is doing the moving.

Yes to all? No to all? Yes to some?

Move faster can only be used on a character's own turn and only at the start of their regular movement. And as they need to move at least one square to have moved, they cannot just waste a fp to stand still.

With a Replaces Attacks/Turn ability that generates movement like Charging Fire or Wheeled, the squared generated are considered normal movement and may have move faster used with them. This is explicitly covered in the FAQ under Move Faster.

However, you don't HAVE to move the extra 2 squares if you don't want to. For instance you could spend a FP to move faster and still only move 4 or 5 squares.

Where this comes up most is with GMA and since you have to spend the FP before you start moving, if you spend the point, then move 4 adjacent to an enemy but fail to kill him, you might not move away (even though you had planned to so had to spend the FP in order to get the movement).

Thanks. Just went to the FAQ to copy the answer here for reference. Only on your turn (as mentioned in the FAQ). The FAQ only mentions regular movement and movement from replaces-turn abilities. It doesn't say anything either way about 'bonus movement" (e.g. Rolling Cleave) or movement generated by replaces-attacks abilities (sorry - can't think of any examples). But I guess we can infer that you can't use Move Faster with those since they didn't mention it. Here's the text:

The entry on page 26 in the CW rulebook pretty much confirms that it's only regular movement, not bonus movement:

A character can spend 1 Force point to move 2 extra squares on its turn. This extra distance
is added onto the character’s regular move. Count Dooku, for example, can use this option to move 8
squares and attack or move 14 squares without attacking. He can’t, however, move 6 squares, attack, and
then spend 1 Force point to move another 2 squares.

I agree with your interpretation, but based on that definition I wouldn't have thought you could use it with Charging Fire either. I knew you could use it with Charging Fire, though, and that was what prompted the question. Thanks.
