I'm looking for some non-Vset options for breaking up stealth. So far, all I've got is Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter; but I'd like to have a few more options. Vader Unleashed also looks cool, but I'm not completely sold on the idea of investing in another Vader. Any other good options out there?

To counter Stealth:
Accurate Shot
Force Sense
It's a Trap
Lightsaber Throw 3/5
Fire Support Misison

You can find characters with these abilities either with the Characters>Search option or by going to the ability's entry in the Glossary.

Usually mix it up. I haven't been playing too long though.

How does accurate shot get around stealth? I assume you just couldn't target it if it was beyond 6 still.

Stealth makes you not count as the nearest enemy outside of 6 when you have cover.
Accurate lets you target an enemy with cover even if it's not the nearest enemy.
The enemy still gains a +4 bonus to Defense from cover.

That is, unless you have Accurate and Sniper (which also counters Super Stealth {see Nom Anor}).Bomb

Well that's good to know, looks like I've been playing wrong on that. Does anything get around cloaked or Nyna/Rebel Commando strike leader other than things that directly lose stealth?

Edit: looks like Caedus answered my question before I asked it.

According to the targeting rules, the legal targets are:
* If any enemy is adjacent, then only adjacent enemies can be targeted
Otherwise legal targets are...
* The nearest enemy in line of sight (including ties), and
* Enemies without cover

So an enemy with cover is not a legal target unless they are the nearest enemy.

Stealth, Accurate, Sniper, Super-Stealth. All of these affect the targeting rules by changing parts of the definitions.

Quote:
Stealth: If this character has cover, it does not count as the nearest enemy for an attacker farther than 6 squares when choosing targets

Stealth changes the definition of nearest enemy. If you have cover and would be the nearest enemy, you are ignored and the next nearest character counts as nearest.

Quote:
Sniper: Other characters do not provide cover against this character's attack

Sniper can change whether or not someone has cover. It only ignores other characters, though. Characters who have cover based on terrain still have cover versus a Sniper.

Quote:
Accurate Shot: Can attack an enemy with cover even if it's not the nearest enemy

This changes the list of enemies who can be targeted to be:
* If any enemy is adjacent, then only adjacent enemies can be targeted
Otherwise legal targets are...
* Any enemy in line of sight

Notice that unlike Sniper, Accurate Shot does not remove cover, so the target still gets +4 Defense from cover if they have it.

Super-stealth is not a game term, but refers to the commander effect of Nom Anor and several other commanders.
Quote:
Characters in your squad with Stealth (including this character) and who have cover cannot be targeted by nonadjacent enemies.

Super-Stealth puts an extra restriction on targeting:
* If any enemy is adjacent, then only adjacent enemies can be targeted
Otherwise legal targets are...
* The nearest enemy in line of sight (including ties) - unless that enemy has cover and Stealth, and
* Enemies without cover

not always
sniper ONLY negates cover from provided by a character, NOT low terrain or walls

One last thing, for an ability that just needs 'sight,' like force grip, does it go through the same targeting procedures?

Yes.

In general, everything targets and follows the targeting rules unless it says otherwise.

And when it says otherwise, it only ignores those things it says it ignores.

For example, Kouhoun Infestation targets but you don't have to have line of sight. So the legal targets are:
* If any enemy is adjacent, only adjacent enemies are legal targets.
Otherwise...
* The nearest enemy (including ties), even if that enemy is not within line of sight. Limit 12 squares away.
* Enemies without cover. Limit 12 squares away.

Appreciate all the help. Can't imagine what all else I've been screwing up since getting back into the game, lol. I recently also learned that commander effects don't go through walls. ;)

Some do. If no range is specified, it's 'boardwide' so it does go through walls. If a range is specified, then you count squares around walls, not through them.

The weird part is Mas Amedda. He makes range-6 CEs range-10000000 (i.e. unlimited). But not boardwide. So you still have to be able to trace a path from the commander to the affected character.

Yeah I was just counting 6 regardless of path prior to that. I didn't know that about Mas, was planning on picking him up soon so that's good to know.

Something else effective against "super stealth" is disruptive. If you can get within 6 of the commander, stops the whole effect.

Jedi also work well. They don't care about cover.

Viper droid. It's shields can be quite effective against a super stealth that refuses to move

If the description o the ability will have the word Target in it.
then it follows Targeting Rules
