If the tank has cover are you able to target the characters inside the tank? It is my understanding that since the tank gives them cover you either have to be adjacent or have accurate shot. Thank you all in advance for your help.

Without doing more research, I'm certain it was intended to work like the other transportation abilities. So yes, characters onboard are treated as if they have cover.

ETA: Read the question again. The tank itself having cover wouldn't affect the answer. Normal targeting rules apply.

You don't need Accurate. You just count distance, and the distance to the mounted character is the same as the distance to the mount.

Desert Skiff works differently because it specifically says you have to add 1 to the distance, so characters on the Skiff are 1 square farther than the Skiff itself. That's specific to the Skiff though, Mount and Mount 2 don't add the extra square.

So then, if the tank gives them cover, and the tank is open and has no cover then you would need accurate to be able to target the mounted characters?

No, because they are the same distance away. (Assuming no other enemy is closer than the tank)

You can target an enemy if they have no cover or if they are nearest (including ties)

No, because they're the same distance. If two characters are both 6 squares away, one has cover and the other doesn't, you can attack both. Tied for nearest counts as nearest, and the characters on the tank are the same distance as the tank.

Edit: ninja'd
