indeed - your options will depend very much on your geography.
Officewerks was used in many cases, and then shipped to the point-people etc, who in turn shipped the sets to individual fans.
as they do once-offs on many products no-questions-asked.
Trying to print statcards or posters via online for some though was a nightmare,
as a "Safe Assign-esque" software tool vetted the envisaged print order and returned a no-go.
though any printer with access to a lazer-screen printer etc
and 180-210 GSM cardstock,
with your print-ready CBYMK'd, minimum 600-900DPI pdfs can print high-quality statcards.
cutting the cards out will be the next hurdle, as they come in a sheet with white guide proofs for the guillotine.
its usually only 50c or $1USD per guillotine cut (more if its onceoff etc).
That's worth it though, as your whole set will have a very well-finished cut to them.
The cheaper options on guillotine cuts - thats where you get the wonky alignments etc,
which detracts from the physical card.
Some printers dislike the lack of bleed-safe area around the cards,
and some will make you order a minimum number of sheets to process a quote
(and will add the cost of quoting into the net price of the unit).
The final hurdle, if you wish to go that path,
is
"deck protector sleeves, or do I laminate each card individually etc?"
it is a question many have asked, and it can greatly increase the lifespan of the card,
to have it in a deck protector or laminated.
@all,
as another workaround for folks on a budget or with limited other options -
it is possible on in-home (or at public library) computers,
to print off the statcards as-is from the pdf in hi-res 600DPI or more mode, and 0.5mm precision cutoff
when you cut them out, you stick the back to the front and run a ruler down the 'spine',
and once they're in a deckprotector, it's about the same weight anyhow
