This likely wouldn't happen in a competitive setting as there would almost certainly be a better CE to steal, but if the Yammosk steals holosids CE, would the entire Yuuzhan Vong army start generating force points? Would they be able to spend them?

YES! (what better CE to steal, nothing like seeing your opponents face as you spend FP's to move faster or re-roll)

What totally blows, is they use FPs against you, and often you can't use them against them. Another reason to BAN the Vong! Let's use cannon minis only!!

Sorry to hijack for another question, but could you use con artist on the Yammosk? To get a commander effect you wouldn't normally be able to?

That is a crazy question. Could it really come down to who sets up first?
If the vong set up first, they would steel a CE, they the con artist would set up and steel from the vong. OR If the con artist sets up first, he/she would have to take what is known from the vong at the time, then the vong can steal from the con artists squad.
I would assume that the CE would have to be printed on the card to take it but that is a really interesting question.

some great questions on this thread - me hopey the boardwide CE steal it is a turn-structure question, like those 'resolves immediately things' for targeting and all, (since its an SA which steals CEs, to presumably bypass disruptive) if its a 'at time of squad building' approach, similar to having 2-3 uniques on the board during a game, and that is perfectly "legal"... it would be a wtf So, I want to say "you can't"... but, it will probably wind up being just like the Uniques approach, so you can... hehe Hows this for a hypothetical though; a character uses force valor or battle meditation (that Komari Vosa Force Power that grants a lame CE), the vong then steal that CE generated from force powers... muahaha

I'd say no. "during set-up" is not actually placing your pieces. It's simultaneous, as if both players have Lobot Reinforcements - one side does not get to see what his opponents Lobot brings in before he brings in his own Reinforcements. They get revealed at the same time.

They get revealed at the same time. It's worse than that. The words simply aren't as well defined as they need to be. That being said, I put in a lot of work to assemble this: http://swmgamers.com/SWM/Rules/PreGame.htmlWhile it never got the "official" endorsement of swinefeld or Sithborg, it's consistent with every ruling as far as I know, even though I did have to fill in a few gaps (mostly filling in gaps for rules about multiplayer games). And based on that guide, Con Artist and Telepathic Insight are simultaneous, after the decisions for Reinforcements. However, for Marn's Bribery... if he steals enemy characters their Con Artist isn't selected until later.
