With the latest custom community challenge being centered on gamers ideas of yet unreleased epics (which by the way, great ideas there designers, and the challenge brings up a lot of solid new piece ideas too, especially those that win the voting based on creativity, need for in the game and balance) it has me wondering about the Epic Vset in the works.

Any word on an ETA or status of this one? The gamers in our northern group are always asking me since I mentioned it's coming. With every other game we play being epic (we even allow the epics to be brought in standard non-tournament 200 point style games) more variety is greatly appreciated.

And go take it one further. Are we the only ones that enjoy them or do others in the community like their style or Epic variants? What are people's opinions on the Titans of legend?

Epic III is still in the works, but not enough people are playtesting it to drive results. I've made posts before on needing testing and I've had limited response, and the ones who do respond will get a few dedicated tests in and then it stops. Some of the set we have marked for completion, but there are still others that we need to get testing in on.

Epics are some of my favorites! Epic Duos is awesome, but one way I play a lot (when I play) is what I call Epic Tiles. Usually one Epic and 300 points, although I've gone up to at lest 500. Then you can add other restrictions like an act cap, no more then 3 commanders or melee only. I'll have to consider banning Accurate Shot and see how that works. And then of course you can get more advanced.

So what's some other ways people suggest trying them?

Me and the guys here in Cali, absolutely love Epics and have our most fun games with them ( however, we do ban the Vong Flapper ). We would love to see another set finished. Our favorites are 500pt games, with 16 activations, no activation control. Games are totally fun and exciting! ThumpUp

You can fire me off one more piece that needs playtesting if need be. I could be able to squeeze in the time with the newborn
