(Skip to last paragraph for important bits)
138 ABY
The One Sith are defeated. This is the final thought in Darth Maim's mind as he watches from a distance as Darth Krayt's ship decends into the sun before him. Eternity seems to stretch on forever as he contemplates how this came to be. He had studied all of the Sith before him, extensively. Having served directly under Darth Wyyrlok to seek out holocrons and knowledge for his master Darth Krayt, Maim had access to all of the Sith lore, holocrons and books retrieved on their many missions. And while his masters sought to rule the Galaxy, Maim only wanted to learn all of the secrets of the darkside. Through his studies he has sifted through more darkside lore than any other student of the force before him, and even if he could not wield that power, he knew of near all of it. For as long as he remembered he had poured over every aspect of the dark side from the lessons and holocrons of the great Sith of old. Ajunta Pall, Revan, Vitiate, Bane, Sideous, Caedus, and now Krayt... Names that had stuck terror into their enemies in their time. Names associated with unspeakable powers, galaxy-spanning empires, legions of followers, and yet... He contemplated... In all cases inevitable defeat. His master Krayt had tried to remold the Sith, to finally perfect it. And for a time it had worked. But eventually it too fell apart. It's as if no matter how strong the Sith grew, the Jedi would adapt and grow even stronger. As his mind raced over these thoughts a new dark one formed. Whether it was his own or perhaps the unified voice of all the great Sith that had come before him, a realization grew in his consciousness. What if all of the Sith throughout time had been united under one banner as Krayt had done. What army or force could possibly stand against such an amassing of power. The ultimate One Sith. His One Sith. In that moment the ship he was in dissapeared from its position in the galaxy and reappeared at what looked like a massive red monolith. The object stuck out in space as something he had never before seen or heard of in all of his searching for knowledge. And it seemed as if space itself eminated from the object. Curiosity peaked, Maim watched, as the ship set on autopilot began an approach pattern towards the Monolith and before his eyes an opening appeared in the red structure. Krayt passed through the opening and to his further surprise, instead of the metallic insides of a hanger like he would have expected there was a world inside. Complete with a night star-covered sky, floating islands, massive rock formations, glowing white translucent trees and rivers of red magma flowing as naturally as water below him. Before he could ask, a word formed in his mind.
Mortis. It is the name of this place.
The words in his mind were spoken by a female voice, ancient in sound and dialect.
With the power of Mortis you are no longer conformed to time as you know it. You could pass backwards through time, rally the dark lords of the Sith and their followers, and return to strike at the Old Republic when it is weakest.
"Even if such a thing were possible, how am I to convince the great Sith Lords to follow me?"
With Mortis and my power, all who follow the dark will kneel to you.
"And who are you?" Maim asked aloud.
Your master knew me, and there was a time he called me an enemy. I am the Last of the Ones, Beloved Queen of the Stars, and Bringer of Chaos. You may know me as Abeloth.
"Abeloth. I recall my master speaking about you. Skywalker and he bested you before, do you expect me to believe you are strong enough to do as you say? Stronger than me perhaps, but strong enough to unite the great Sith of old?"
At that moment the sky grew dark all around him, darker than the night it had been before and continuing until only the darkness remained. He couldn't see her but he could feel the raw dark side energy all around. He knew that this was not the same being he had fought before. She had somehow changed and grew even stronger then he had imagined was possible.
With this place I could end your existence with a thought Maim, but surely this will do as a demonstration.
Maim immediately found himself standing before a figure who at first he could not make out. Than as his eyes adjusted he realized that it was his master. Darth Krayt, clad in the Vondum Crab Armor that had been a staple of his appearance as Emperor and yet showing no signs of damage from the wounds that had been inflicted by Cade Skywalker. And then what's more, Krayt kneeled. Darth Maim was in shock, but discipline from years of being Wyyrlok's apprentice kept him from showing it.
I am all those names I spoke, but I was first the Servant and I give this place to you so you can finally fulfill what Krayt tried to do. You must retrieve the Sith throughout time, unite them and take them back. And then with your One Sith you will finally be able to bring about the order in the Galaxy you have sought all your life. So tell me, what is your answer?
"I will need help, there are others, commanders that I trust."
They will be brought here.
"Then let us begin."
4000 years BBY...
Another explosion rocked the cruiser. General Jon Grievous, a Jedi Master aboard the Salvation clung tightly to the command table in front of him, trying to not let is fear show. "What did we just lose?" Grievous yelled out. "Portside deflectors are down. We're sitting Mynocks out here!" The shields officer yelled. Have the crew begin evacuation procedures and send a message to the fleet. The Sith have returned and they're got some kind of new weapon." This weapon was a large red monolith. Which has appeared suddenly only minutes before and turned their routine medical escort mission into one of survival. The Salvation was the last ship standing as the other cruisers had thrown all they had at the monolith and been soundly destroyed by a combination of strange triangular warships and an assortment of other vessels that had appeared with it. Some he recognized from old holo records of Sith technology but others were as equally foreign as the triangular warships. His train of thought was cut short by another explosion sounding off to the port side. "Hull breech!" The damage control officer yelled. Grievous turned his head in the direction of the explosion and in that split second as the doors to the bridge buckled and he prepared himself to pass on from this life, everything changed. He was standing on a grassy field, overlooking a crystal clear lake surrounded by floating islands that somehow defied physics. And standing before him was an assortment of men and women who looked like Jedi except in some cases dressed radically different then the traditional robes he himself wore. Some looked familiar and like statues and Jedi holocrons he had seen before of Jedi Masters long since passed. One of the females approached him. "My name is Kerra Holt, and this-" she said pointing at another alien-looking being. "Is Xesh. There is more than a few thousand years between us. Those Sith out there are like nothing you or any of us really, have ever faced before, and we have a lot to talk about."
TLDR? That's ok here is the short of it:
It's that time of year again. Time for another SWM campaign. This time it's the ultimate time-spanning conflict of all time Sith versus Old Republic. For those new to it, you sign up and either pair up with a vassal or in person opponent, have the supreme commander divide the factions pieces among the commanders, fight your battle, and then report the results, rinse and repeat a few times and the side with the most points related to wins will claim victory. But protect your unique characters as they can be killed and out of the remainder of the campaign! It's been a good time every time and great way to boost the game we love, so sign up! Official sign up thread is in vassal thread which I will post a link to from here. Any questions you can post here or bloomail me.
