cool stuff!
so many folks are coming back to SWMinis again,
or have tried the FFG 'imperial assault' game and decided they prefer SWMinis hehe.
the cool thing? the color coding on FFG maps and Epic Duels maps is pretty much compatible with SWMinis,
so they're great for tile-wars or dynamic duos, or regular 200 or whatever you'd like to play.

its great to see you again, shatteringlass - BlooMilk
will you be making customs on the thread there too?
I ask, in part because decent condition SWMinis are getting harder to source for specific ones, and partly
because Wargames Factory has their new year sale soon, and you could make some multi-game compatible custom minis,
that way you get one lot that can 'counts as' for a few different games,
rather than shelling out for AT43 figures, W40K/warzone or killzone, FORPG or mech warrior etc.
speaking of which - you might also like Brother Vini stuff.

most leagues allow players to have 'counts as' figures, so long as the figure conforms to the base,
and you've got statcards on hand BigGrin

Have tried the FFG 'imperial assault' game myself and defiantly prefer SWMinis. However those imperial assault minis are very welcome for new mini customs for SWM vsets.

Anyway welcome back OP. hope you manage to get enough of your collection back to start playing again.

How do the IA minis compare in size to ours? I've watched a lot about it IA and really wanna play, but I cant get a good idea about the size from videos

@shatteringlass
apologies for a minor thread digression, I can move it later if you'd prefer. BigGrin
I think you might find it handy though

@ cassus fett
apologies for the tangent (since I derailed the OPs introduction thread, might as well 're-rail'?) BigGrin
It's benign accidental thread digression.

There are several different visual comparison images and threads out there,
though I can't recommend more Agis Neugebauer's (who I'm happy to say, is a bloomilk user and does visit from time to time)
Agis is a great SWMinis fan - miniatures in general really, and has got a lot of handy how-to's as well as comparison images, on agis' website.

above: a very handy image comparing SWMinis with IA counterparts,
as you can see, IA miniatures compare well with SWminis early sets, though
SWminis become more comparable with Knight Models pewter figures in the later- SWMinis sets,
as SWMinis are themselves made of an inconsistent variable quality throughout the run BigGrin

though there are also images comparing all known commercially available figure to one-another out there, if you search in Russian or Japanese BigGrin
those other more exhaustive image-comparison projects are seeking to be able to store
all known miniatures in the one database, so you can compare in-scale, one miniature with another.
it would have front, side, top views, and if one miniature is say 5ft by 3ft, and another is Yoda,
you'd be able to see how they visually look next to one another...
many models and gashapon correctibiru vendors, welcome such a project,
because they feel, it would reduce the returns and clearance rates of models etc. folks would know what they're buying better.
some other factions don't like that concept, 'infudgement this' or 'it'll ruin sales' that... we'll see how those turn out.
