Greetings SWM community!
Now that there have been 24 epics that have been done, it's time to let one of the strongest Jedi's ever into the class of Epics. Here are my 2 Republic credits for this to finally be done, and to stop this madness of Obi-Wan Kenobi, not being an Epic;
He is a Jedi Master seated on the council with the likes of Yoda and Windu, which implies he is a very powerful and respected Jedi. He doesn't fare too poorly against numerous enemies that seem to dispatch most Jedi with ease (Maul, Dooku, Fett, Grievous, and eventually Anakin/Vader). He was one of the most heavily relied on Jedi in fighting the Clone Wars, alongside Anakin, and his survival, and the respect he seems to command indicates he did very, very well.
The mission of taking out General Grievous, Mace Windu wanted the strongest Jedi in the universe for the job. He spoke with Obi-Wan before he had left Coruscant, and had told him of facing Grievous in single combat atop a mag-lev train during the general’s daring raid to capture Palpatine. Mace had told him how the computers slaved to Grievous’s brain had apparently analyzed even Mace’s unconventionally lethal Vaapad and had been able to respond in kind after a single exchange. “He must have been trained by Count Dooku,” Mace had said, “so you can expect Makashi as well; given the number of Jedi he has fought and slain, you must expect that he can attack in any style, or all of them. In fact, Obi-Wan, I believe that of all living Jedi, you have the best chance to defeat him.” After all, the only form in which Obi-Wan was truly even proficient in was Soresu, which was the most common lightsaber form in the Jedi Order. Founded upon the basic deflection principles all Padawans were taught— to enable them to protect themselves from blaster bolts— Soresu was very simple, and so restrained and defense-oriented that it was very nearly downright passive. “But surely, Master Windu,” Obi-Wan had said, “you, with the power of Vaapad— or Yoda’s mastery of Ataro—” Mace Windu had almost smiled. “I created Vaapad to answer my weakness: it channels my own darkness into a weapon of the light. Master Yoda’s Ataro is also an answer to weakness: the limitations of reach and mobility imposed by his stature and his age. But for you? What weakness does Soresu answer?” “I am called a great swordsman because I invented a lethal style; but who is greater, the creator of a killing form— or the master of the classic form?” “You are not just a master. You are, The master,” Mace had said. “Be who you are, and Grievous will never defeat you.” So now, facing the tornado of annihilating energy that is Grievous’s attack, Obi-Wan simply is who he is.
And there are several other passages in that trilogy, and in other books that similarly hint at, if not outright declare Obi-Wan's greatness. His strength lies not in his absolute brute-strength in one narrow field, like Anakin, Yoda, Windu, and others, but in his proficiency in every aspect, and mastery of several.
Despite holding only a fraction of Anakin's raw power, he completely bests him in combat in Episode III, and never seemed at a particular disadvantage. Despite being restrained, and not nearly as renowned in swordsmanship, he defeats Grievous when so many other Jedi had failed (including Mace Windu in the books mentioned above) or died. Despite having his heart torn out at the fall of the Jedi, Republic, and his "brother" Anakin turning into Darth Vader, he maintains his strength of character, will, purpose, and focus in a situation that would leave an ordinary man in tatters.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that Obi-Wan Kenobi, should be an epic. With besting Darth Maul, General Grievous, and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, it is my opinion that Obi-Wan is one of the strongest and best Jedi's ever discussed in detail in the Star Wars universe. Not because he is unmatched and legendary in any one particular aspect, but because he is exceptional in every aspect.

Well Soresu Style Mastery is a given- perhaps 23 defense (or 24?!?) as well given that quote.

I seem to remember that Griveous was about to overwhelm Obi-Wan with the sheer speed and number of attacks per second. So, using SSM, Obi-Wan did the only thing possible - cut off one of his limbs. Have to work some kind of attack in here somehow.
Maybe an Epic SSM ability - True Master or Ultimate SSM. Something that can't be nerfed by a differnt style.

Agreed Kenobi is a worthy adversary and deserves an epic. But the best jedi ever is clearly Luke in the new canon, or Regan/Kyle/Jacen in the old haha
