Does Force Attuned Armor, Beskar'Gam, or Crab Armor ( Obviously not against minis with Force Immunity ), work against these Force Powers?

My thoughts:
You can BG Brutal strike, but not Overwhelming Force. You can attack back vs. OverForce (Riposte, Counter Attack), but not vs. BrutStike. Both prevent any damage reduction. I think both work vs. Vong.
Could be wrong. Might be more.

Sort of. Overwhelming Force can be used versus Vong (see list here: http://swmgamers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1953 ). In that sense, Brutal Strike can be, too. However, Brutal Strike has two parts: " Force 1, usable only on this character's turn: This character's attacks cannot be prevented and enemy characters attacked by this character cannot use special abilities or Force powers that respond to this character's attacks for the rest of the turn" The part that affects the attacker works even against Vong ("this characters attacks cannot be prevented"). The part that affects enemies would not affect Vong ("enemy characters attacked by this character cannot use special abilities or Force powers that respond to this character's attacks for the rest of the turn"). Most abilities that respond to attacks are actually preventing damage (e.g. Crab Armor) - Vong can't use those due to the first half of the ability. But they could use Counterattack, for example.

Aren't both Crab Armor and Counter Attack "responses"? If you can do one you should be able to do the other and vice versa.

The first half of Brutal Strike (unpreventable damage) prevents Crab Armor but not Counterattack. The first half is like Overwhelming Force, and it works against Vong. Counterattack doesn't prevent damage, so it isn't affected by the first half of Brutal Strike. The second half of Brutal Strike (no "responses") would prevent both, but Vong are immune to the second half. You are right that Crab Armor and Counterattack are both responses. The difference between the two parts is that the first half targets the attacker. It makes the attacker better by making their attacks unpreventable. As a consequence, the target of the attack can't use Crab Armor or other damage-negating abilities, but that is an indirect effect. The Force power directly affects the attacker. In contrast, the second half directly affects the enemy, preventing them from responding to an attack. Because Vong are immune to Force powers, that second half doesn't affect them.

So let me see if I have this right;
Avoid Defeat works against Overwhelming Force, but not against Brutal Strike?

Avoid Defeat happens after the damage has already been applied, and is responding to the defeat, not the attack or the damage. You can't use Evade or Crab Armor or Pheromones or things like that against OWF or BS. You also can't use Riposte, Diem So, and some others against Brutal Strike.
