Interest in a second VASSAL event? Options

I was wondering if there was any interest in a second vassal event this year. I had a lot of fun in the world vassal regional that Caedus led earlier in the year, and would be willing to lead another. I was thinking of having it start sometime in September to give people a break after GenCon but still finish before holiday season. As far as format, my default would be to do a standard regional format with a map list and floor rules in effect, but I would be open to any other format, like casual, all melee, or even epics.

Thoughts?

Because regional season is in the Spring, we don't really see much of a new meta develop for the even-numbered sets. A fall tournament would help with that immensely.

I created another thread called After Gen Con Events.

I have always hated how dead things get after Gencon so I fully support this.

Agreed, if it was a month or two after I would definitely do it! Still need some amount of time for the gencon hangover.

I might recommend an early October start.

Still plenty of time before the holidays, but Sept is often a crazy adjustment month for many (post summer, post GenCon catch-up)

I am down and should be able to finish this time. Since I am getting the snip and will not need to worry about pregancy and baby and wife issues ;)

Btw - I'd suggest going forward with this thread as the 200pt regular competitive format tournament and Caedus continues his for the alternate format options.

They can (and should!) both happen. It's not an issue if they overlap.

Okay, as of now then I'll plan on running a regular 200 point competitive starting end of Sepetember/start of October. We still have some time so details may change.

Is there a way we can get an idea of this tournament date? 200 point standard? Or any restrictions on it? I assume set 14 will be legal,, and this could be the first official one with these pieces available! Just reigniting the conversation on this

Yes! As in I would love to do this. Late September seems best imo.
The new set is legal for it?

Yes, new set is legal immediately after GenGon. It would be neat to see what all gets used in it, and the wild creations people come up with. I'm good with September. Looks like we have a potential 5 people already up for it. How many more can get in on this?

Lets talk about your tournament in this thread to not jack his forum! But I am totally for either a quick "Season" of minis on Vassal with the new set, or just a tournament of sorts on it.

Season could just be a round robin tournament where you play everyone. But I wouldn't mind a September Start to the tournament. If your wanting to do it once in all day, then it should just be a standard tournament. But if your ope to a " YOu have 7 days to get a game in" rule, then I think a Round Robin would be very fun, and give us a whole lot of data about how these pieces work. Wouldn't mind making this a standard League after Gencon as a way to get fast data about certain pieces. Maybe even let people make play a different squad every week? but lock them in during the actual tournament?

The new set is on Bloo Milk! Let us begin something! Set a date, lets start sign ups! Someone set up a Vassal league! Or I will do it!
