So if Bane uses Force Focus, can he then Leaping Assault from 8 squares away? Also, if he uses Leaping Assault does he have to be able to see the square he is leaping too or can he essentially leap to any square within range?

Yes. You would be able to leap 8. However it won't do extra damage because leaping assault isn't doing damage it is creating attacks
Can be any square within 8, no line of sight needed. Just like levitate

Can you use a force point to just move 2 extra squares as part of the movement instead?
Will it still count as leaping movement?

Will it still count as leaping movement? I don't see why not. He has MotF2. Quote:Q: Can General Grievous spend a Force point to move faster when using his Wheeled ability? Can Darth Maul on Speeder spend a Force point to move faster with his Charging Assault? A: Yes. "Normal move" is defined as the initial movement generated by a character taking its turn, including movement created by abilities that replace the character's turn.

I'm not sure the comparison with Levitate is entirely accurate. I'll have to look into that.
