Squad Abilities and Counts As Options

So I was looking at some of the trooper stuffs for OR. If I run the OR Captain with Jace Malcom, and several troopers, does Jace Malcom get the Squad Synergies since his name is Jace Malcom, Old Republic Trooper and he has counts as Old Republic Soldier on his stat line?

Assuming you mean the OR Commander, yes, he gets Double Attack from the OR Commander. And he counts as having the same name when it comes to Squad abilities.
