Note: I have adjusted the sub time frame for this week, the CCC week ends on the same day of the week, but since we are starting on a Weds instead of a Tues I gave submissions one extra day and lowered the time to vote by ~1 day. Please note I have 2 really cool ideas for this week. This one is the primary one I had in mind. If, for whatever reason this is inappropriate (you will see shortly, though Id doubt anyone would have an issue with it) please let me know and Ill change it to the 2nd of my cool ideas for the CCC. With all that out of the way this week, "We have the minis." In this case Im referring to the new minis from Star Wars Imperial Assault. We have stats for a number of them that have come out such as The Inquisitor, and Hera etc. But the challenge for us is to create pieces for the new named characters! Thats right, we have these minis (or at least a good number of us likely do), so lets create some cool new pieces for our game! So, create minis for the named characters in IA that do not exist as pieces within our game. (The named heroes, the named villains: someone like Kayn Somos or Agent Blaise, or Fenn Signis) Here are some resources: Wiki for IAThis has good information on many of the expansions and the names of the heroes, some show the cards so you can get a general idea of the archetype of the character List of all the Rebel Heroes some links with stats but def all have minis: http://imperial-assault.wikia.com/wiki/Herouse in conjunction with to help you get an idea of what the character is all about: GoodSearchofIACardsNow this is a bit unusual I know. But "we have the minis" why not create stats for them for our game? All of them are unique and should fit their respective factions well. The main goal is to create stats for the unique minis and have some new cool/interesting SA/CE/FAs for them. I feel this is an almost next step to Surf's "who am I" CCC, but this time we have minis representing these new characters as well as names, and some indication of what type of character they are. I myself already have ideas for Gideon Argus! (P.S. I hope I have explained what this one is about better than the last one I have done ) Edited to make the links work 1. You may update any existing versions you already have and/or create a new one. You may update/create several versions of the character but you must ultimately select 1 you wish to run with. (this must be done by the schedule below) 2. Place a hyperlink in this forum to make it easier to find your character. You can just post the stats or image here but if changes are needed it would be easier (and save space) if you just used a Hyperlink (If you don't know how to post Hyperlinks in a forum setting please ask and we will help you. It's not hard ) 3. Voting works as follows, pick your three favorite customs based on accuracy to the character, design, balance or whatever you decide makes the best incarnation of the challenge character. First place receives 3 points, 2nd place receives 2 points, and 3rd place receives 1 point. 4. You do not have to enter the contest in order to vote. But unless you enter you must have at lest 10 forum posts. 5. To make things fair you must vote in order to win the contest. You must choose three characters entered in the contest and you may not rate or vote for your own character. 6. The winner will be decided by how many points they receive. Ties will be broken by most 1st place votes, then if still tied, 2nd place votes and then 3rd place votes. If still tied, then the outcome is a tie. 7. You may not change or update the entered character AFTER the deadline. You will have until Sun, September 24th, 2017 @8pm EST to get your submissions in. Anything submitted after this point will not be included in the voting. ii Voting will start at 8pm on Sunday evening and end at 10pm EST on Monday, September 25th,2017. At the conclusion of the voting the scores will be tallied and the winner will start a new topic with their choice of theme.

I dont know blemelisk. Some People might really like the idea. I know when i did one, some people did not like the idea. I am sure if I knew about IA that I would like it. I guess my suggestion is since you won I would go for it.

neat, IA and Legion are fun stuff to port into SWMinis. a lot of the IA and Legion minis already have SWMinis stats made, the ones which don't, and which I'd want to see in SWMinis, are mostly vehicles - and past threads have detailed that many dislike staggered activation for vehicles etc.. for the 'original characters' in IA or Legion, those aren't 'canonical', they're from an FFG-houseofmouse verse. so... that's about where I see things at hehe. droids or aliens, I'm there though

I love the idea!! I believe the game is just as good as WotC's game, and better than the complex abortion, that is most of the Vset pieces. It's your week! don't change it because of the haters HERE'S MINE! http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/28325/shyla-varadcurrently playing this chick in IA. Her relationship with Sabine, is purely my invention. I think these 2 Mando chicks would get along. giving Sabine access to the Darksaber, updates her character to current SA

I wouldn't call them "haters". I'd call them "no interest in IAers". EDIT: It is a fun game and with SWMs you've got lots of pre-painted minis to use, but only in casual play.

Simple primer: All dice are six sided. Attacks use several attack dice. They provide damage, range number (spaces to target) and surges (method of triggering abilities)
Red: high damage very low surge no range Blue: medium damage low surge high range Green: chance for everything Yellow: low damage low range high surge
A range of 10 spaces is very far away, this is up close combat. (yay for melee). Hit Points of 13 is solid to high end for heros. Scrubs have around 3-8 HPs. Speed of 4 is average.
Defense uses two dice:
Black: Good blocks (stops damage on a one for one basis) max of three block. White: max of one block + one Evade (cancels a surge). However one side out of six is blank and one side out of six is a Dodge - the attack missed.
If you want to make something browse google for ideas of how things mesh.
An Elite Stormtrooper squad:
Cost 9pts Has three Troopers each trooper has 5 HP 1 black die (defense) Blue,Green attack die move 4 Surge for +2 damage Surge for +3 range They may re-roll one attack die if they attack while adjacent to a friendly trooper. Each trooper has one attack and one move - or two moves. they activate together but move/attack individually.

Yet again I seem to be misunderstanding the contest. When I read the first paragraph I thought "Just make stats for a IA mini that already exits in the IA world and how would I transcribe that to a SWM set of stats.
Seems like the "argument" is more of a "create stats along the lines of the IA" .... why would we do that? They already exist ...Or am I again not understanding it? Characters are characters; I have no urge to play/acquire/learn a new game but I'm not against it. Am I just looking at apples in an oranges discussion?
.... whatever .... shame I already have made several cards for IA characters.

That's pretty much how I interpret it as well.

@surf you're alright (you did a great job last week with a fun Ms Sing on Super bike) I digress; this week's task is; done, as you've already ported most of the starter set! it's a transliteration/transpose exercise. take System B and port it into system A, as closely as possible (minimizing any 'noise/degradation' ala Shannon & Weaver) System B -> Transitional Framework C <- System A. Above: how the translation could transpire. The contest constrains that to only what would be considered Uniques. so, take a Unique from IA/Legion, and transpose that unique as faithfully to the source as possible, into comparable SWMinis style stat-block. |in order to do that, I think we could compare by net play-time, compare the 'power index' from IA/Legion relative to per-hour-of-gameplay, and then use that to compare with what statblock would offer a similar per-hour-of-gameplay 'power index' score... that would yield the more objective "apples for apples transliteration".| a similar 'rule-of-thumb per gameplay hour and relative index" has happened in the past "SW:40Kin40mins" port, from a warhamster and pathfinder statblock to a comparable SWMinis statblock...
some of the force powers function very differently in IA/Legion than in SWMinis, so, those would require 'new force powers outright' - that is, if those force powers could be ported at all hehe. As I said in my post, the only ones that interest me would be considered vehicles in SWminis. droids, aliens are more my niche hehe. that, and some folks really dislike the notion of staggered activation (personal preferences notwithstanding hehe)
