Just curious what peoples thoughts are on this. I have been thinking about Vassal Leagues fora while, as Vassal is now our main source of gameplay in the community.

So, as a question to the general public, who are interested in playing the game, who would be interested in trying a league with certain squad restrictions/ slightly different rules?

I'd be up for it. My only free night to do things is Thursdays and only for a couple hours on that night.

Different rules: booster league. We haven't seen one of those in a long time.

Booster League is interesting, and I am open to all suggestions.

My idea wouldn't always be "Must play by this date"

More like, if there are say 12 people in the league, you have 1/2 months to get all 11 games in.

So if you have a free day/2 and can get multiple games in you can.

My ideas of the league would be any of the following.

No act control/Activation limit.

Only Sub Factions.

Only Dark Side Factions/Only Light Side Factions

different Point total

Once you use a faction, you must choose a new one for the next match

Booster squad League

Any more ideas I am forgetting?

I would like to get over 10 people, and then do a top 4/6 or something at the end of the league.

I'd be interested, depending on what the rules would end up being. I do like the idea of using different factions for each match...but maybe it would be enough to simply encourage people to experiment and use different squads.

I am open to ideas, whichever gets the most people. But, I would like a unique set of rules to go with it. Something fresh that gets people excited

The main rule is I want a large time frame, where you just get your games in as you can. Play everyone once. At your leisure.

Ya know, like a Month or 2 to get all games in. And once everyone plays, then do a top 4/6

There hasn't been a booster league run in a long time. It's a lot of work for whoever runs it, and since it's not standard 200pt skirmishes I don't know how popular it would be.

If I were to play i would want to do a Booster League. Question is how does one pick their boosters. One non-vset, one v-set 6, one v-set 1-5 or 7-15? How do you determine what a person gets each round?

Personally, I wouldn't be interested in a booster league. I never play the Sealed event at GenCon either. These events swing too much on the luck of the booster pulls and can easily leave you stuck with a bunch of useless jank that additionally isn't fun to play. Some people like events like this because "the challenge and fun is in making the best you can with what you've got," and I can understand that. It's just not attractive to me, that's all.

Can we come to an agreement on a style to play first? The come up with some ideas.. If its a booster... Obviously you should only get 3/4 boosters for the entire thing... With the only restrictions being Unique?

Right now it looks like only 4 people are interested in something at all.. So it doesn't look like its worth the time to invest... So unless more people speak up, I guess this is a dead idea

I'd love to do a booster league again! haven't done one of those in ages but it was a lot of fun when we did it. It's fun to open packs and see what ya get. ThumpUp
