When i have a character with the Lightsaber +10 special ability, if i attack someone i am adjacent too, doesnt that still count as non melee, meaning example if i base a figure with a Jedi Sentinel, & have a czerak within 6 squares, she would still get the twin attack correct? because even if your adjacent to a figure & you have the LS special abilitiy, your figure is still non melee correct? thanx to anyone who answers

The glossary text says that the character uses a lightsaber instead of a blaster.

yea i know i read it.. But still i think you need to have the Melee Attack special ability in order to do melee attacks. With having the lightsaber +10 ability, if your even adjacent to someone, i think its still non melee so cant be LS blocked, parry etc. I think its like that but not 100% sure so i asked here.

Lightsaber does not change your attacks to Melee.

Are attacks made while being adjacent all melee attacks? Even from a character who doesnt have the melee stat?

Example: Cade Skywalker, BH double twins GMLS while he is adjacent, does he trigger Djem-So?

Attacks are typed by whether or not a character has Melee Attack or not. There are a very few abilities that changes it, though.

This is an unfortunate issue of real world reasoning that does not fit within the SWM, if a character is not Melee as printed on their card regardless if they use a lightsaber ability, lightsaber flurry or anything else it is still considered a non-melee attack. It would not Trigger Djem-So

Momentum just requires for you to be adjacent, it does not change the attack. Lightsaber Throw, Blaster, and Poisoned Blade are the only abilities that changes the attack's type.

This Question Was Asked For My Brother (Darth Babylon) So Read All Below If You Wanna Know What The Issue Was

thank you sithborg for clearing it up i knew i was right on the question because i remember reading a simular thread on i think WOTC about it.. & i know you would answer it & thanx for always being there to answer my questions buddy..i dont know if you hear this that much because people dont appreciate what you, nickname & headache Emp Dragon do for us, so thank you to all of you for what services you provide.

this is why i needed the answer.. i was playing my brother this past weekend (darth babylon - but dont worry im nothing like him lol) anyways he was using jedi sentinels, the exile & a czerka to give the sentinels 4 attacks.. so he based one of my figures who had lightsaber deflect & he only took 2 shots on my figure with it & i said to him well you still have 2 more attacks 1 from the exile & czerka & he said no because he was based & she was using the Lightsaber +10..

i said no even though she is based her attacks are still considered non melee, so he did it & then i deflected 1 & he missed the other & he was trying to tell me that you couldnt defect because they were melee & it got to the point where i was gonna bet my Boba BH for his Darth Revan that i was right but then i convinced him because i knew i was right & didnt wanna take the revan off of him..

that isnt right, & basically let it in on him that he could base someone with the sentinels or anyone with LS +10 & it will still do the 20dam & its still non melee except if your using poison blade with a Geno.. so it gave him a few more idea's on teams to build.. so thank you again Sithborg for answering, i dont know what i would do without you man.. you are the one who answers every question for me & wanna let you know its appreciated man seriously..also thank you to everyone else on who answered..

aye carumba! yeah, I think I asked about the Lightsaber +10 SA before(in reference to a Mara Jade)... But yeah, having Lightsaber +10 SA doesn't turn the attack into Melee. It's a nice loop hole when up against someone with an ability that affects melee attacks.

I wish the Glossary would give some examples of how to use some of the special abilities... like "For instance..."

Next question though... does the Czerka give that character twin attack?

One of the Czerka's Special Abilities gives Twin Attack to characters without Melee Attack and a base (printed) damage stat of 10 within 6 of her.

thinking on this...

okay, so a Dark Side Adept, Dark Jedi, Luke Skywalker on Tauntaun, Jedi Sentinel, or Kyle Katarn can gain Twin Attack from the Czerka(if within 6), and if they are adjacent to an enemy, they get +10 dmg with each attack from their Lightsaber SA, right?

Yes, as it is a bonus and doesn't change the attack type.

Thanks. I was playing last night and had the Jedi Sentinel up close to an enemy fig. When she attacked, I combined fire with Antarian Ranger. She did 20 dmg on her hit!! yay. I think I'll work out a squad with her, the Czerka, and some Antarians. :)
