Djem So is triggered in response to a melee attack, not preventing damage..... Overwhelming force only prevents special abilities from "preventing attacks" such as Soresu Style Mastery, lightsaber defense, etc..

Also characters with Diplomat can be attacked with Overwhelming Force. You also would have to use Lightsaber Sweep to get around the "cannot be targeted" portion of the Diplomat SA.

I never thought of lightsaber sweep not targeting.
does that mean anyone can lightsaber sweep a diplomat?
and does lightsaber sweep get around draw fire and bombad gungan?

I would assume no for all abilities. With LS sweep they have to be a legal target for you to hit them. The way i read it is that as long as their is another enemy in LOS the diplomat is not a legal target therefor you cant attack him with anything (including Attacks of Opportunity).

With someone who has the SA Diplomat, you have to go out of your way to kill them. Someone could run a Stealthed, Super Stealthed, or Cloaked figure in close proximity making you unable to attack or target the Diplomat.
What Overwhelming Force allows Lord Vader to do is attack someone without worry of having Draw Fire, Parry, LS Block, etc. of getting in the way. The use of this Force Power allows Lord Vader to attack a Diplomat, but not target them.
Enter Lightsaber Sweep. This is a non-targetting attack. So the combination of Overwhelming Force and Lightsaber Sweep gives Vader the chance to take out those pesky paper pushers!!
@kfc Lightsaber Sweep does indeed get around Draw Fire (and thereby Bombad Gungan) as the attacks generated by the Force Power do not "target" anyone. Sweep does not, however, get around Diplomat. Even though Sweep does not target anyone, it still is an attack. The Diplomat SA normally prevents characters from attacking and/or targetting them.
