So the Vong have been around for a time now, and while their list of flaws and short comings is no secret how many of us still try to utilize this faction. Or is it mroe of the YVOG finding his way into the NR the only use you will find for a Vong fig? Nom Bombs while still usable are not nearly as powerful as they once were, and have always been hard to play.
If you don't use Vong why not? And Vong users what do you think the faction needs to be tier 1?

They are pretty close right now. They are there pretty much to counter Force Users, which makes them hard to be the threat themselves. Unless you are playing Nom, they are a Melee based squad. I think they need a movement breaker like Han Stormtrooper or Leia. They are also sadly very weak to Droids. A lot of their Dam boosts only applies to non-Droids (JH, Poison).

In my opinion the vong are not nearly as powerful as they should be. I read a bunch about the vong (the whole wookiepedia section on them) they annihilated the new republic and the galactic alliance could not stand up to them for the longest time. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yuuzhan_VongQuote: The Yuuzhan Vong war was possibly the most devastating crisis the galaxy had faced. The cost in lives were staggering; the number of deaths over the known galaxy were estimated at about 365 trillion sentients. As far as what needs to be done in order to make them better. I think that they need to have their Amphistaff upgraded. This weapon was devastating, another quote from wookiepedia: Amphistaff Quote:The amphistaff's edge—measured in atoms—slashed through flesh with no resistance. In the blink of an eye, the amphistaff could soften and wind around the lightsaber's blade, its venomous jaws snapping and tearing at the unfortunate victim's face. When directed, an amphistaff spat venom at a distance of 20 meters. This spray was aimed directly at the target's eyes and instantly blinded them. Poison seeped through the pores and entered the victim's bloodstream, interfering with circulation and choking off the oxygen supply. Excruciating pain accompanied twenty hours of suffering until the victim finally died.

And this i must say does not make any sense as they fought a war in their home galaxy with 2 droid civilizations and eventually beat them both and forced them out of the galaxy.

I never use them cause I only have 5, my friend uses them and collects them(he has 35 Vong), i think the Warmaster is insane and would use them if i had more.

I use them alot. (2nd most used after imperial) Since all of my friends and people I play with don't use/ hate them I end up trading for them in groups. They are good but I don't think they are quite tier 1. 10 base damage slows them down a lot even with shaper and the scarafication thing going. The last game I played with them I played a 500 pt game vs Mandolorian. They got hosed in the begining with all the twin attacks and massive damage output but when they got into melee they wiped the floor with those armor plated machine guns.

Id like to see some more unique vongs being made in mini's, theres alot more of them.. same goes for Mandalorians.. Theres so many more Mandalores & other unique mando's they need to make. It would be good for a change instead of the 30 remakes of one character they do but hey thats mini's for u.

When I started playing SWM, I hated the Vong. Then I got a chance to collect them and loved how simple they were to use. So every now and then I bust out the Invisible Felcor or a Warmaster JH squad just to keep things a bit spicy.
Basically I'll use them to deter a certain way of playing. For instance: if someone keeps playing shooter squads, I'll use a Nom squad; of if they love abusing Potty Palp/Lightning, then I use the JHs; etc. Lately though, our group has increased in skill level so playing Vong is more for the fun of it than to win. Much more challenging.

The Vong are the only faction where I own at least one copy of every piece. They may have gotten some of the Jedi Hate they deserve but the downfall is still their lack of shooters. Thugbugs may be nice but I'd like to see more Razorbugs and Razorbug 20 abilities.

I love using Vong faction builds. Mostly consisting of Ossus Guardians, Jedi Hunters, PVWs, Shapers, and Priests. I tend not to use Nom or Yomin.
It might be just because I am a Vong fan in general, but they also can be fun to field in the right enviornment.
I think their main problem is being limited to melee only. Granted they have Razorbug, but 10dmg is nothing in todays game. Spit and Thud Bug are limited so I dont count that as a viable non-melee attack either.
Granted you could always use Fringe shooters, but I find that in 100-150pt games, Fringe shooters dont work as well with Vong because they do not benefit from Vong CEs and SAs. At 200pts + you can pull it off though.
Ive been saying I would like to see a Vong shooter. IDK how off the top of my head, just figure it out WotC. I would also like to see a Vong, Droid Hunter of some sort.
That would be a good start.

They need some help against shooters, but I think the OG and mouse droids were a big improvement for them. The OG is just an upgraded JH, but the crab armor goes a long way in prolonging their longevity and with more hit points it translates to even longer life spans.
Since the JH and shaper came out, I've been playing jedi hate squads, and they work against non-jedis just as fine. I think the warmaster is often underrated for what he does.
But the vong's biggest problem is accurate shooters, hopefully we will keep getting new vong, even if they are not uniques.

But I think the OG is more then just an upgraded JH. His razor bug allows him to be used at range, sure only 10 damage but still enough to kill an uggie, or a stormtrooper in cover.

i play them because theyre simple. Charge and Hit is a very easy playstyle. I think they could use some more range abilities or attacks to really be equal to other factions. Master Tactician would be interesting and useful with all the cunning they can get.
