For all questions on legality of maps and such go to the DCI Document center to find the latest version of the SWM floor rules. But yes, the ROTS starter is a legal map in 100, 150 and 200.

All DCI legal maps can be found in the DCI Floor Rules.

And yes, the ROTS hardboard map is legal.

I think it's interesting that the ROTS map is legal, considering it's shorter than normal paper maps. Does that affect the tactics much?

Yes it certainly can effect tactics. It is a map that occasionally is abused by players because of the size difference. Overall it is not that bad considering some of the abuses going on right now.

Again look for the floor rules to create another upheaval in maps with the possiblity of going to a more restricted map list for the higer end competition. There is also a possiblity of opening up the 100 format to almost any map and bringing back some long gone ones.

What are some ways people abuse maps? Guess that's a can of worms, maybe I'd be better off not knowing! ;)
