So, I have two characters blocking a two-square wide passage way like thus:

OOXOOO
OOOXOO

...'O' being hugs and 'X' being... hang on, 'O' being empty squares and 'X' being my characters... and along comes Enemy Pete (any enemy character) and wants to move past them. Sure, he'll incur AOOs, but can he actually get past them? Y'know, running along the top, sidestepping diagonally, and then leaving along the bottom?

Da Beast is right.
Of note, this can also be done to move diagonally between two squares of terrain (except walls that aren't beveled)...say if the two enemies were low objects.
