The Empire has Storm, Sand, Snow, Swamp, Magma and probably many more troopers. Each one specifically tailored to function in their specific terrain. The galaxy demands specialized gear for diverse situations and vastly different environments. So, this week's task is to create a character specialized to succeed under specific elemental conditions, and to do your best to connect that to a meaningful representation in the game.

Maybe the sand troopers need some special loving, or you believe that Hoth Rebel soldiers are a bit too generic, or maybe Tusken Raiders should excel at hit and run, but they really don't in SWM. In any case show us how braving the elements makes for a better mini.
Your character doesn't have to be non-unique, but they have to have a new ability or showcase an existing ability that incorporates their area of specialty. (Give someone a reason to have breath mask maybe?)

1. The character must be canonical to either of the Canon or Legends continuities and from the chosen faction when required. They can have affinity, but the character must start in the chosen faction.

2. You may update any existing versions you already have and/or create a new one. You may update/create several versions of the character but you must ultimately select 1 you wish to run with. (this must be done by the schedule below)

3. Place a hyperlink in this forum to make it easier to find your character. You can just post the stats or image here but if changes are needed it would be easier (and save space) if you just used a Hyperlink (If you don't know how to post Hyperlinks in a forum setting please ask and we will help you. It's not hard )

4. Voting works as follows, pick your three favorite customs based on accuracy to the character, design, balance or whatever you decide makes the best incarnation of the challenge character. First place receives 3 points, 2nd place receives 2 points, and 3rd place receives 1 point.

5. You do not have to enter the contest in order to vote. But unless you enter you must have at lest 10 forum posts.

6. To make things fair you must vote in order to win the contest. You must choose three characters entered in the contest and you may not rate or vote for your own character.

7. The winner will be decided by how many points they receive. Ties will be broken by most 1st place votes, then if still tied, 2nd place votes and then 3rd place votes. If still tied, then the outcome is a tie.

8. You may not change or update the entered character AFTER the deadline.

***PUSHING DATES BACK FOR LATE START***
Lets try to be prompt for this round of voting so that we are back on track next week.

You will have until Sun, March 17, 2019 @8pm EST to get your submissions in. Anything submitted after this point will not be included in the voting.

Voting will start at 8pm on Sunday evening and end at 11pm EST on Monday, March 18, 2019.

At the conclusion of the voting the scores will be tallied and the winner will start a new topic with their choice of theme.

As I have wanted a good reason for any character to have breath mask for a while:

3rd Oakel, cool simple piece, I may have just created a Poisoned condition for simplicity but I love that their breath mask makes them immune to the grenade's gasses.

2nd Gandalf, very cool theme, I wish it helped out the miserably bad Golan Arms Battery and it may be a touch on the strong side with standard troopers, but that being said no one plays Hoth troopers so maybe they need the boost! Also I really like that it's similar almost to XCOMs overwatch if anyone has played that game.

1st Adam, Sand People need this guy, very cool and thematic piece!

I wrestling with my decisions as each of you has hit upon a beautifully simple character that greatly improves their sub-factions, and would challenge gameplay without being obtrusive to existing squadbuilding... which is pretty much the gold standard to me. Dynamic options! Squadbuilding choices!

Any one of these submissions would could be a winner of a CCC in my opinion. There are no bad creations here, so my ratings may splice hairs but are not representative of my appreciation of the characters.

1st: Gandalf - Adding viability to a currently abysmal sub-faction with an awesome "Overwatch-y" new ability. Plus I already like Wary so much I used it on one of my CCC entries in the past. Probably should have some playtesting to cement how Entrenched should function, but I took it as 1 shot per character per round. I think that is reasonable given the weakness of Hoth troopers, and might mean it counters a Daala/Snowtrooper squad for a pretty engaging and thematic battle!

2nd: Grievous - I could see nightsister squads being a solid tier 1.5 consistently with this addition to the lineup. My one concern is that cloaked could be too strong, and they might have been more interesting with stealth or force fog. The thoughtful synergy between force storm 1 and summon storm makes building a squad around multiples cool. Perhaps consider a name change so they could contribute to the NR witches too?

3rd: Adam - I completely agree that Tusken Raiders need some love, and I think this character is delightfully thematic. For me it was the hardest to forsee whether the character would have a significant impact on gameplay/squad building. I am concerned that Hide their Greater Numbers would not be impactful enough, as it may be too difficult to make good use of, but it would just take some real playtesting to know. Not a bad entry at all, just the hardest to justify without doing some playtesting. Though the Pathfinder CE is perfect!

Tough week. It's hard to judge.

1. Gandalf - I like the trench Combat flavor.
2. Oakel - i like the theme and always like seeing how trooper types.
3. GG - I didn't want to rank you third because I liked your mechanics, but I'm just partial to rebel and imperial troops

Looking like Gandalf with 8! Nice work everyone with some really creative entries. Also Oakel valid point about the force fog or stealth! And Adam yeah the witches are creepy hahaha.
