Great find!
The return of SSMM...wonder what will happen this time.
Ahsoka's CE seems to go quite well with the new Rex's. A follower kills an enemy, get's to move and attack again, then move 2 squares out of harm's way.
Wow, just noticed that Obi's CE affects ALLIES. Wow. Wow. Wow.

WOW! great minis! and now the republic have two characters giving the extra attack (although it'd be expensive to use both)

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/GalaxyatWarAhsokaQuick link for quick reference. I like these two. We get a BALANCED GOWK, and Ahsoka has some very cool potential. Granting Rolling Cleave to figs will be fun. I think I will pair this Ahsoka with Anakin of Nelvaan. Twin Rolling Cleave is always win.

Wow, this Obi and Captain Rex will be great together! I like how they balanced him by not giving him FR1.

That and 11pts more. He will still be a VERY tough nut to crack, but considering he has a FP that you will be using a few times, it won't be anywhere near as unbalancing as GOWK. I think a piece like this is sort of needed with all the cannons flying around.

Hmm. I noticed that in SithDragon's article on Pojo, (Article: The State of the Game) around midway through the 3rd paragraph he says... "However, there is light on the horizon for Obi-Wan lovers. I can’t say when, but in the near future, GOWK will be returning to DCI legality with a few changes. The first change will be the editing of Soresu Style Mastery. Instead of stopping all damage it will now only stop the first 20 DAM. Power Shooters can still over power his defenses, but the fact he will stop a ton of damage before he goes down (unless you roll saves like me) means he will still be tough. The second change will be that he will lose Master of the Force 2. Now that seems like a lot to lose, but he still can stop 20 DAM, and he still has one reroll with mettle, needing a 7 or better. I like these changes as it makes Obi still a beast (minus my save rolls), yet he should not rewrite the meta as he had." If this change took place, how would it work with this new Obi? Would SSMM have two different definitions based on which piece it is on?

Opening thoughts on Ahsoka's CE (and possible questions):
1) Gree Brings in Wookie Elite Warriors and they get Rolling Cleave with Melee Reach 2 and Momentum!
2) Mon Mothma's Deathblow works with Rolling Cleave!?! 4/5 point Younglings with Padme could possibly die, kill what is next to them, then move 1 more and kill something else? They do 50 in one turn then?
3) JWMs with Rolling Cleave...like they needed some help damaging things!
4) WFFs with Gree do 60 running up and hitting with a Czerka. Then they get to move 1 more and if you are within 6 of the Czerka you can get Twin/Momentum, so they can do 100 in a round!
5) AniSTAP now got nuts, he essentially gets 1 extra square on Strafe if he ends his movement by killing a figure. And gets to TWIN.
Kenobi:
1) 6 shot Rex/Dash while having basically a super GMY stat/defensive power wise.
2) Younglings can now do 40 damage with Kenobi. Just think about that.
3) Obi can move 32 squares without taking an AoO by getting Towed, moving 14 w/ a Force Point, and then Suprise Moving. All while having FLIGHT.

A change to SSM would affect both pieces. However, that is not exactly the voice I trust in such matters.

If that's correct, I wanna go buy some younglings to try it out! EDIT: I think it wouldn't work since Rolling Cleave says "Once per turn...." Mothma isn't giving them a turn, merely an attack.

Whew. When I saw Obi-Wan had SSM again, I was getting worried we'd see another piece banned. But without Force Renewal and Master of the Force 2, he's much more balanced. And how about that! All those people who hate Ahsoka and play miniatures will probably be using her a lot more thanks to her commander effect.

i'm seriously not happy with anything the clone wars series has braught to this game. they banned GAWK, they're just gonna ban this obi to. if they don't ban him, theres just gonna be another unfair peice running around out there. and what's the deal with lightsaber def.? ahsoka's only like 13 isn't she? wasted plastic as far as i'm concerned.

Not really, GOWK was almost indistuctable with Renewal, Soresu Mastery, MOTF 2, and mettle, this one costs more, dosen't have renewal or MOTF 2, Ashoka is ok, but not must have in Republic squads. And if they do ban this one(which they probably wont) alot more people will leave the game.
