Who else is going stir crazy?
Why the heck aren't we playing more minis!?!
I typically have a very hard time getting Saturdays off of work. Now, I can't work at all - so darn it I wanna make the best of it!
And I don't wanna do the same old tired stuff all the time. Let's mix it up.
I have SOOOOOOOOO many squads I want to try, and it sometimes drives me nuts having to play the one same squad all day.
So what are we gonna do?
I declare this the
1st annual Dark vs Light Vassal tournament!!!What the heck does that mean? I'll tell you!
Everyone brings 2 legal 200pt squads. 1 from a light side faction, and 1 from a dark side faction. And only 1 map for both (less map shenanigans that way)
ALSO - No repeat uniques between squads.Light Side factions include: Old Republic, Republic, Rebel, New Republic and Madndalorians (they have a very noble code of honor)
Dark Side factions include: Sith, Separatists, Imperials, Yuuzhan Vong (yeah, yeah I know), and Pure Fringe (they have many unsavory types)
*To be clear - these are regular legal 200pt squadsYou pick one faction and can add fringe (and affinity if it applies), just like normal.
You cannot use Darth Revan Sith Lord and Darth Vader of Lothal in the same squad and call it "Dark side".
Rather; Pick a "Dark Side" faction and make a normal squad, and pick a "Light Side" faction and make a normal squad.
Fringe can be used in any squad, but ALL FRINGE (Talon Karrde, Hutt Cartel, etc) will be considered Dark Side (to make it even
)
The only other "different" rule is that you can't repeat a unique between your two squads. No you cannot use Lobot in both (TIM!). You cannot use Anakin in your Republic squad and Darth Vader in your Imperial squad.
Clear? Contact me if not
Map list - same as the current Vassal tournament list. All legal restricted list maps that are on Vassal
Top of the match, everyone rolls. Winner of the roll gets a choice:
pick which squad you wanna play{light or dark}, opponent has to play the opposite.
-or-
choose map AND side, setting up first (or defer side and set up second)
Play proceeds like normal.
Tournament will run like normal,
*EXCEPT for the final game - 1st vs 2nd.
If they played in Swiss, they have to play the opposite squads. If they didn't play in Swiss, they have to play 2 games, each playing both squads (always light vs dark). If they split, winner is who scored the most cumulative points. Ooooh - fun!
Sign up in this thread if you're gonna play
We'll start at 2pm central time (so that we can hopefully get some kiwis involved. If my math is right that's 8am Sunday morning. Totally reasonable!)
