Title says it all.
Some additional info:
This event would have each player assigned 2 virtual packs of whatever the WOTC set was, and then build a squad (probably 125pts) from there and play some games.
This would not replace the v-set 20 sealed that takes place every year. This would be in addition, similar to the Rebel Storm sealed was last year.

Alliance and Empire is my pick, probably because it was the first day I bought a booster from all those years ago

More info needed.
Would this be just opening virtual packs? Would this replace a set 20 sealed? If so but we want a set 20 sealed, do we need to write that in here?
If this is in addition to the vset 20 sealed, then I’ll need to think about it. Some sets made for horrible sealed events, with one piece practically winning you the tournament.
Also - assuming it’s virtual and in addition to vset 20 sealed - can we vote for a vset? We never did the odd numbered vsets in sealed at Gen Con. I’d be really interested to see how they play.

This is in addition to the set 20 sealed.

Is this strictly WotC, or are vsets fair game?

Just seeking interest for a WOTC tourney for now. If there's more interest in a v-set sealed, we can certainly talk about that more.

I was bummed I missed the Rebel Storm sealed last year. In some ways it makes sense to do the next set - Clone Strike.
There are some other things we can look at though.
The Clone Wars - to commemorate that AMAZING SERIES FINAL ARC that just happened. (Seriously - if you didn't see the last 4 episodes of the final season that just finished a few weeks ago - you missed out! Some of the best Star Wars - PERIOD.)
Also looking at The Dark Times 10 year anniversary (it is for Masters of the Force as well, but that set sucked!)
So those are the 3 I have narrowed it down to

Same is true with some of the other sets that didn't specifically make the list.

When thinking "what makes a great sealed event" - nostalgia and popular or power pieces are a initial pull when thinking of any particular set. However, I think for the actual gameplay, a more even distribution of cost and power makes for a more satisfying experience overall. Dark Times is excellent in this regard. Some support - Most expensive Rs/VRs in the set27 Ferus Olin 29 Bossk, Trandoshan Hunter 31 Dengar, Hired Killer 32 A'Sharad Hett 32 Dass Jennir 33 K'Kruhk, Jedi Master 34 Kir Kanos 35 4-LOM, Droid Mercenary 35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter 38 Merumeru 43 IG-88, Assassin Droid 43 is the most expensive piece in the set? That's GREAT for sealed. No uber clearly dominant piece to curb stomp everything else. Most expensive Cs/UCs in the set17 Trandoshan Elite Mercenary 20 Emperor's Hand 22 Imperial Inquisitor 23 Elite Sith Assassin 24 Jedi Watchman 24 Mandalorian Jedi Hunter 25 Imperial Sovereign Protector 27 EG-05 Jedi Hunter Droid Some respectable pieces to supplement if you're the poor player that pulls Major Maxmilian Veers as one of your Rs/VRs. There's always a few "dud" R/VRs, which can never be totally avoided in sealed. However, that can be overcome by mid costed Cs/UCs. Especially since there is no nuke of a R/VR in this set. Cheapest in the set3 Rodian Brute 7 Talz Warrior 8 501st Legion Clone Trooper 8 T'Surr 9 Gungan Bounty Hunter 9 Imperial Engineer 9 Kota's Militia 10 Rodian Raider 11 501st Legion Stormtrooper Also important to sealed. Some legitimately decent filler to round out any squad. It actually sucks for sealed when your cheapest piece is 16. Since there are no clearly auto-include pieces, and overall cost is fairly low, that makes for more creative squad building. It doesn't become - well I have X and Y that are obvious shoe-ins, and that takes up 3/4 of my points so I'll just throw in filler. I think there will be some really tough choices when squad building. That is great for sealed! So there is no - "Whoever pulls X will win easily" pieces in the set. There are plenty of options to create interesting competitive (for sealed) squads. Creative squad building and skill in-game will win over lucky pulls. I really think that this set makes for a great sealed event!

anybody else want to share opinions on this? (especially looking at people who might play in it).
So far only 6 people have voted.

I'd actually prefer to see a mixed sealed tournament. Two boosters, but one from each of two sets, but both of roughly equal power. So don't mix Clone Strike and Jedi Academy, for example.

I voted Jedi Academy. But then pair it with Dark Times. One of each.

I've been convinced A&E would not be the best option due to powerlevel. Im very interested in playing sealed, but that's about the extent of my opinion now.

I need some clarity about this: for this sealed event will we be opening physical boosters (and thus paying an entry fee), or will they be virtual boosters?

And Tim has convinced me: Dark Times gets my vote too.
I was thinking of Champions of the Force, since that was the first set that was released when I had started playing the game (I joined after the Universe set, and was scrambling to catch up)...but CotF had so many super high-cost uniques (Darth Bane, Exar, Ulic) that I don't think it would make for a very balanced tournament.
