Just how do you kill Diplomat? if they are the only legal target, are they killable. can they be killed by mass damage, I.E force lightning, grenades, flamethrower, repulse? i really need to know how to run my Imp Dignitary in Gambit. i dont want to throw him in there if hes gonna get iced. if someone could give a descriptive setting, that would be greatly appreciated.

Yes mass damage can kill Diplomats, you just cant specifacally target them unles they are the only enemy a character can see or if your opponent has a diplomat that can see your diplomat. Is that any better, that SA is confusing

ok. so if my imp Diggy is the only legal, he is a target. if an enemy character with Dippy has LoS to my Diggy, my shooter, who also needs LOS can shoot my Diggy. Got it.......I hope.

Ok, here's how it goes..... A character with the SA Diplomat cannot be Targetted OR Attacked if there is another character that is considered to be friendly towards the Diplomat (that is not a Diplomat themselves) within LOS of a character that is trying to attack them or target them with abilities (such as missiles, grenades, lightning, push, etc). That does not mean they cannot be affected by such abilites. Example: A= Diplomat B = Wookie C = Cade Skywalker XXXCXXX Here, Cade cannot attack the Diplomat because he can draw LOS to the XXXXXXX Wookie. This means the Diplomat is not a legal target, so Cade can then XXXXXXX attack the Wookie in the back. For every hit or miss that Cade rolls, the XXXAXXX Diplomat must make Splash saves. This is due to the nature of Splash XXXBXXX damage. It is niether an attack nor a targetting ability to adjacent minis. Now, let's say the Wookie was a Genoharderran Assasin. Cade would not be able to attack anyone because the Assasin is using the Diplomat as Cover to gain Cloaked. Just because the Genoharderran Assasin cannot be targetted doesn't me you ignore it for LOS. Cade can still see the Assasin, but he just cannot target him. There are certain abilities that can kill a Diplomat regardless if you can see someone else or not. Force Repulse, Unleash the Force, Self-destruct, etc. are all non-targetting abilites that are not attacks. There are some interactions out there that generate non-targetting attacks (like Lightsaber Sweep and attacks of opprotunity). Even though the mentioned situations do not target anyone, they are still attacks. So you got through half of the Diplomat SA (the targetting part), but you still need to get through the attacking part. The only character that can walk up to a Diplomat and beat their head in with witnesses is Lord Vader. He can spend a FP to use Overwhelming Force to prevent any ability stopping from him attacking; and then use Lightsaber Sweep to make a non-targetting attack. The best way to have a Diplomat run up onto Gambit is to have a Cloaked/Super Stealthed character hanging around them so that you won't have to worry as much about the Diplomat getting shot at. Sincerely, Jester007

Great synopsis Jester. Also remember that if you can't draw LOS to any other character but the Diplomat, you can target the Diplomat. It's easier than you think with a map that has a lot of walls. Just move your character so that you can only "see" the Diplomat...

And Bombad Gungan neither targets or attacks so if you Bombad Gungan to a Diplomat it overrides Diplomat I believe.

You can redirect it to a Diplomat, however, Bombad Gungan does not override the Diplomat the "cannot be attacked" portion of Diplomat, so the Attack would be lost. Direct Damage would take effect, however.

Have an army of diplomats in front of a bunch of super stealthers (Imperial, so you can have 10 damage for the diplomats)

the way i always remember it is if your going to shoot a politician you have to do it where no one else can see you do it. meaning you cant see anyone else if you want to shoot him.
Diplomats rule!!!

Well, hope that this character with Grenades have Mobile attack and an exception of flight, otherwise it'll be one suicidal grenadier for 1 potentially dead diplomat... you really think that's worth it? Just swap/Force Repulse would do just fine against Diplomats and other things around within it's radius....

For the same point cost, you'll get Opprotunist from Thrawn AND be able to make ranged attacks with the Caamasi opposed to the Dignitary's melee. Sincerely, Jester007
