(I somehow screwed up this post. The event is long done, and I was copy-pasting for the next similar event, and lost this info in the process. I'm posting this simply for posterity. 9-5-21)

Also note - it is intentional that all squads follow official tournament building rules. In fact, aside from the Dark vs Light requirement, this could be considered a long-form regular competitive tournament. Players have expressed wanting to test regional and Gen Con level squads against the best, so I encourage you to bring the best. Hopefully changing factions will help players to also think outside the box, and not always play the same squad types. We should see a lot of different tier one squads here, and that is intentional.

I feel like this will be a stupid question but i'm new (that's my excuse) What sets will you play with ? Only WoC or with V-sets ?

Welcome! to answer your question, we will play with both. there are some good all WotC squads still that can compete (skybuck and double lancer) so if you want to just play those you can. the v-sets did make a lot of other factions quite good tho and there is a much more balanced metagame right now. We had a 6 activation squad win gencon world championship last year, so even low activation squads can be good.

Ok, thank you for your answer. I will see if I have time to dive into the v-sets and let you know if I will take part or not :)

OK, I'm in. But I may not check in this Saturday until later, as I have a morning commitment. I live in the East Coast Time Zone in Pennsylvania.

Options since this looks like we're a small group:
1. We play exactly as planned, everyone plays everyone once. Cut to a top 2 (And I have thoughts on how the finals could go)
2. Everyone plays BOTH Light and Dark matchups with each player (either in the same day or separate days, we could extend time each week to make sure this happens.) No playoffs (unless there is a literal tie and the top 2 players split their games, then we do a tiebreaker game)
3. Everyone plays BOTH Light and Dark matchups with each player, AND we do a top 2 playoff.
Thoughts?
If we do a top 2 playoff, here's the thought -
Best of 3 - Light/Dark/Neutral
We change the categories only for the finals to 3 categories. Dark - Sith, Separatist, Imperial Light - Old Republic, Republic, Rebel, New Republic Neutral - Mando, Yuuzhan Vong, All Fringe
Both players bring 3 squads, one from each category. Light plays dark, "Neutral" will play neutral in game 3 only if needed.
Thoughts?

I vote for option 1. I do believe Jason was considering playing, so that would make our group a little bigger. I messaged him about it, so we'll see. Maybe Laura can join also?
We could also do this (which i would prefer because of more games). Everyone plays everyone else 2 times. One game per week. Cut to top 2 for playoffs? It's really hard to get 2 back to back games or even 2 seperate games per week for me. I can definitely do 1 game per week so i'd like to keep that as our way to play. I'd don't mind playing everyone else 2 times tho.

Unfortunately, I am out for this one. It's actually harder for me to line up one game a week than to play for a solid day, but only every once in a while. I hope you have fun, though!
