Hi everyone! This is announcing this year's third Sunday Regional! Creatively titled: MAY SUNDAY REGIONAL!!!I plan to hold one once a month until Gen Con! ALL ARE WELCOME, regardless of geography!!! Please let me know in this thread if you plan on playing. I'll have a running list Standard 200pt squads. Bring your good stuff. Squads and map selections can be PMed to TimmerB123 anytime after Thursday May 27th (I will PM a neutral party my squad before then) *Registration ENDS May 30th at 10am central time (please save your squad on vassal beforehand for efficiency) *Rounds begin promptly at 11:00am central time (Noon Eastern). {Please gather in Vassal by 10 minutes before the hour} Gameplay in each round will last exactly 75 minutes. 10 minutes of set-up time will be given before the game clock begins each round (we will start the game clock when everyone is set and ready if it is before 10 minute set-up time is done). Number of Swiss (initial) rounds depend on number of participants. <8 = 3 rounds, cut to top 2 (or just straight 4 rounds of Swiss, decided based on numbers) 9-16 = 4 rounds, cut to top 4 17-32 = 5 rounds (very optimistic here), cut to top 4 There will be a break after round three, unless people want a break at another time. Legal Map Lists will be:Bothan Spynet Cantina Outlaw City Rhen Var Citadel Ravaged Base (Commander's Office) Starport District Starport Terminal Throne Room (The restricted list maps, all available on Vassal) ALSO NOTE: Players will be responsible for knowing all errata, floor rules, etc. Changes can be found here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=20395and here: http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=28568This will be an official Star Wars™ Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) sacnctioned event. The SWM GPA Floor Rules will be in effect. (The Star Wars Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) Floor Rules and the Star Wars Miniatures Game Rules should be read and understood by all players wishing to compete in sanctioned events. All SWMGPA members participating in SWMGPA-sanctioned Star Wars™ Miniatures events must abide by these rules.) Sunday isn't a good time at all for me to be in on one of these regionals. Would it work to maybe have one of these on a Saturday every once in a while?

I think that part of the reason Tim has been organizing these for Sundays is because he works on Saturdays and so it's really hard for him to make the Saturday events. But he's certainly not opposed to us holding events on Saturdays. Last week Laura tried to host an event on Saturday, but I think that only 2 people ended up playing. I'm almost always up for a SWM event (whether Saturday or Sunday), so you can feel free to pick a date and create the event, if you'd like. Sometimes people need some time to make arrangements for a multi-hour SWM event, so you might want to give at least a few weeks' notice, but I think you'll likely get a good 6+ players most of the time...that's what our numbers have often been so far this year.

This is true, it is certainly partially selfishly motivated. thereisnotry wrote:But he's certainly not opposed to us holding events on Saturdays. This is also very true! The more events, the better! Even if I can't be there. One thing to consider is that if you start later on Saturday (2-3pm) you might be able to get some Kiwis involved (that would be their Sunday morning). If you're thinking about hosting an event, I'm happy to help with any suggestions. You are always free to copy/paste the first post in this thread as a template and edit as needed.

I would love to play in a tournament but it would have to be on a Saturday because I have to work Sunday AM now unless it started at like 4pm EST.
