When this character is defeated, after removing him from play you may place an ally whose name contains Darth in a square this character formerly occupied; that ally gains all of this character's Force Powers for the rest of the skirmish
what happens if this character had gained a force power like illusion or sith rage through a force spirit? would the character I select gain those as well?

The character who had gained those powers no longer exists. Therefore you would: 1.) Resolve Rule of Two. 2.) The spirit would then check for its target. EG. Exar Kun DFS would check for the unique ally he chose at match start, fail to find it and become defeat as per dark spirit. 3.) Because the character chosen only gains those abilities while within 4 squares of exar they lose them (because he has now been defeated)
This applies to Exar Kun and Freedon Nadd. Marka Ragnos is different because eternal sith spirit explicitly says if the haunting target is defeated to choose a new target.
So, Exar and Freedon are defeated before they can resume handing out powers. Marka could choose the new Rule of Two character.
TLDR: No they don't gain those powers because the spirit is defeated, unless its Marka Ragnos. At least as I understand it.
